Had on tap and out of the growler. It pours a light copper color and forms a 1/3 inch off-white head that reduces to a mild over-the-top lacings. Carbonation is visible.

The aroma is as to be expected by the name, primarily grapefruit and an earthy hops present that is in the background compared to the grapefruit.

The taste is again that citrus hops, primarily grapefruit flavor. Some pine/earthy notes again, which actually balance the citrus combined with the minimal malt backbone.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a good level of carbonation that does not sit more than a few hours in the growler. Nice dryness at the finish.

Overall, this could be an overwhelmingly strong beer, but it is balanced well and is quite good and well worth it if you can get your hands on it.

After all these years, this is my review #1000! It is my first beer from the new brewmaster at Blue Heron, and, for my review 1000, it is fitting was brought by my very good friend stoutsnipas who graciously shared with me a lot of my beers reviewed over the years.
From notes. I guess adding grapefruit to an IPA is a similar step to adding coffee to stouts.
Poured from the growler into a tulip, it is dark yellow with a relatively small, average retention off white cap, with some lacing.
The aroma has a little less grapefruit than expected, but it shows a pleasant combination of fruity, obviously mostly grapefruit hops, grass, grains, pine.
Medium bodied, easy to drink as it is hoppy but not even close to overpowering, and it does not neglect malts, as some underlying bready sweetness can be found.
I like the new brewer, would be glad to try other beers.
