I stayed at the Inn for a couple nights mid-week. It was pretty quiet. The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant is fantastic. The brewpub isn't as good as the other restaurant (Clement Room I think), but it's good pub fare. They had 6 or 7 beers on tap. I had their Maple Porter, which I thought was good, but a bit thin. The prices are very reasonable. If you go to stay in the Inn, their off-season is the winter (surprisingly, considering how close they are to Cannon and Loon ski areas and not a whole lot farther from Bretton Woods or Waterville Valley).

I returned after a day of skiing at Cannon to pick up a growler of their winter beer, Wassail Ale. Unfortunately, they don't do growler fills from the tap, but have them pre-filled when bottling the beer. They didn't fill any growlers with the Wassail, but suggested a convenience store up the street that had 4 packs of it. The people were always very friendly and helpful. The service was great, even when they didn't have what I wanted, they suggested where I could get it to go.

Big place, entered from the front, kept going back to get to the bar area. Rustic charm, awesome fireplace in the far right corner past the bar, imagine that must be a great spot in the winter to sit and enjoy a beer.
Outside seating/ bar area was full, beautiful garden and tables, great spot to sit outside.

Service was friendly but slow. Not sure if it was the waitress or the bartender that was slow.
Had the sampler, most beers were okay, pig ear brown was good, 4000ipa was decent. APA was out , but new batch coming out the next day.

Locals in the bar were welcoming and friendly, chatted about expansion of the place over the last several years and renovation of the bar area.

Overall, a place I would recommend to stop in and have a beer if you have time and meet some locals. Beer was ok, but good variety. Always look to support local beers when traveling.

Love the Pig's Ear brown ale @ Woodstock... Always look forward to it after coming off the trail in Franconia Notch. This was the first trip with my son and I was a bit unsure. But they really went out-of-their-way to accommodate BOTH grown-ups and kids. Still the most solid, reliable option when we're in the area.

decent brewpub with a sort of rustic, homey feel to it; kind of what you'd expect in ski country. the family rents a place in the area every winter, so while we were up one week my wife and I stopped in for dinner. it was a Monday, and we were a little ahead of the dinner crowd so seating was not an issue - plenty of it. food-wise, the menu is essentially American comfort food. I ordered the chili for an app and was sufficiently stuffed by the time my main course arrived (mac and cheese served with pulled pork). wife had chicken and shrimp basilica. everything was good - comfort food good, not award-winning good. no issues with the service, though it wasn't memorable either. as for the beer, they had a handful on tap, all brewed onsite. the pemi pale ale was ok, while their wassail ale was better if nothing to write home about. although I did purchase a bottle from the gift shop to bring home, so that might be a poor choice of words. I was just trying to be a good patron. :) price-wise, not exactly cheap (not much in ski country is) but it won't break the bank. worth a stop if you're in the area looking for some grub and a decent beer, though be forewarned it assuredly gets packed on weekends.

I made a trip during the past weekend to check out the new construction and the crew managed to get the new bar up and running somewhere around 6/30/12. The rest of the building is still in the framed stage. It was the weekend so the crew was not working so the atmosphere was better than it would have been with a bunch of background construction work going on. Everyone still enters at the original entryway and walks up the landing to where the hostess station is but everything from that point on is new. There is a tidy spacious stage area for the entertainment where the original bar stood and the new bar stands on the right hand side. It is sizable and could easily fit 3 times the people that the original fit. There was no decoration to the place as it had just opened. It was purely functional and smelled of fresh cut wood --> Enough atmosphere for me. Wifey and I had some Pemi Pales and I had my pre-requisite chili in the bread boule, my perfect lunch. As the season is just starting the help was busy getting up to speed with the crowds that descend on the place during the summer so we cut them some slack if items came out a bit slowly. I will be going back during the weekend of July 27th and will amend with the latest.

Stopped in for a beer. Service was awful, we were ignored for what felt like 15 minutes. Two rounds of drinks and we were there for about 90 minutes.

Oatmeal stout was good and the patio was a nice place for a beer, but we were told that the area was for dining only, for future reference. Unfortunate. Perhaps there is an area for just drinking outside, but I didn't see one. Service was not good, we received a look of confusion form the hostess after she finally decided to address us standing in front of her, as if she was wondering why we would be there. We were then directed to another hostess who gave us similar treatment. Ten minutes after sitting down, we met our waitress, who took 20 to bring us drinks.

Beer was good, as was the root beer. Didn't have anything to eat, we were afraid of what the wait might be like! Good selection of draft beers and a big menu.

The food menu was a bit pricey, but we didn't dine so it had no effect. Beer was reasonably priced. $8 bucks for a pint with souvenir glass included. $4-5 for a normal pint.

Unfortunately the place was being renovated, so the atmosphere was no good. I can imagine it being a pretty cool place normally, though.
