the local thirsty dog brewpub burned down a few years ago and in is place we have...chick-fil-a. lame.

A- pours a slightly hazy honey orange amber with rising bubbles. head is off white a little yellowish and extremely buildable. it rose an inch above the rim of the glass giving me 2in of rocky cloudy foam that formed peaks and valleys finally settling to 1/4in disk leaving sheets of lace on the glass.

S- mild tropical fruit (yeast?) piney citrus hops, sweet buttery caramel malt overtaken by woody earthy pine cones with mocha and flowers in the back of my sinus. and a slight wet dog smell.

T- candied grapefruit and bittersweet orange peel. softer woodsy pine mingles with a nicely balanced pale raw barley taste that softens into a beefy barley soup with a burst of piney citrus hops at the end that fade fast leaving a delicate cocoa pine aftertaste with some mineral water.

MF- slick and juicy like a cold glass of orange or pineapple juice. medium bodied with immaculate carbonation fading resinous mouthfeel and very refreshing.

D- aggressive hops, lots of flavor, low ABV, unoffensive aftertaste. i darnk the whole 6-er.

Pours a clear medium amber with a slight red hue. Nice head with ample lacing that retains well. Nose is of mild pine and citrus hops over caramel. Light medium body with a somewhat smooth texture. Above average carbonation level with a nice bit of effervescence. The flavor profile is well balanced, but not very complex. It begins with citric and pine hop flavor, then flows to a bitterness with citrus zest aspects against a slight pine background. The crisp finish effervesces with a touch of caramel sweetness in the background of a grapefruit zest bitterness. Quite tasty.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly cloudy orange copper color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, caramel, toast, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, caramel, toast, bread, pine, and floral earthiness. Moderate pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, orange/lemon zest, floral, grass, pine, caramel, toast, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hoppy amber ale style. All around good balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
