One of six beers purchased at Wegmans in Warrington, PA as part of a mix & match 6pk. Enjoyed with my buddy Pat at our monthly beer tasting night.
Enjoyed in a DFH Signature glass.
A-Pours a dark brown, almost opaque color. A one finger, foamy head on the initial pour which quickly fades. A small amount of lacing left on the side of the glass.
S-A slight burnt coffee/malt smell.
T-The initial taste is of burnt malts. As it warms up you can pick up some chocolate hints with some coffee notes. Slightly bitter and tangy.
M-A rather thin mouthfeel. A decent amount of carbonation. Not overly heavy or thick.
O-A decent beer for the style but not overwhelming. A beer that was very drinkable but not one I'd probably re-visit too often only because it's not my favorite style.

appearance- It's a rich dark brown with a half finger head that quickly goes away
smell- the smell is a refreshing mocha-coffee smell. It smells very sweet and bourbon like.
taste- you get a lot of mocha flavor in this beer. maybe a little bit of a sweet bourbon taste which i really like. The finish is a drier coffee taste which lingers for a while on the tongue and cheeks and leaves the mouth dry. I am not of fan of beer that finish in this way nor am I a fan of the way this one finished however, I am a fan of this beer.
Mouth feel is very wet and smooth. not creamy at all. this is quite a lot of carbonation, almost too much for a porter I think. I'd prefer a little less carbonation when I'm drinking a porter or stout.
Overall- This is a good beer to sit down with and have with a dinner. I might buy this beer again. definitely not a session beer. I do like this though but for some reason this beer is a little harder for me to judge.
