A - Pours a nice dark color with a creamy head about 2 fingers in width and leaves a decent amount of lace as it is drank.

S - Presents the aroma of roasted malts with a hint of coffee and cream.

T - Starts off sweet with a creamy chocolate taste mixed with roasted malts and finishes with a bitter, but pleasant, coffee taste.

M - Light to medium bodied with medium-heavy carbonation. Leaves a dry feel in the mouth.

O - Overall this is a good beer. Not my favorite porter, but one that I will gladly return to.

A: Quite dark with a thin, unsubstantial off-white head. Seemingly no carbonation.

S: Sweet with caramel malts. Seems to have a hint of some funk and roast. Hmmm...

T: Really not much to it to be talked about. The roasted flavor is first and foremost, backed by sweet caramel and something a little weird. It's like the lactose from a milk stout, but not completely. The alcohol is really only present in the back of the taste and doesn't last long.

M: Thin for a porter and went down a little rough. Not really the best, but not the worst. It's ... Meh.

O: This is the kind of beer that turned me off to the whole robust porter style. I'd probably struggle to finish it and give the rest away. This is a perfectly average robust porter, if not below average.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass at around 45 degrees Fahrenheit

Appearance: Dark brown with a red hue when put up to the light. A frothy two finger tan head

Smell: Roasted malts, chocolate, caramel

Taste: Sweet chocolate is dominate with undertones of roasted malts. Also a little smokey. Not very complex, but still above average for a porter. The aftertaste almost tastes like stale coffee to me which sort of put me off

Mouthfeel: Lacking in body; Light and goes down almost too easy

Overall: Porters are one of my favorite styles, but its hard for me to find one that i truly love. I usually stick with my top 3 (Eddy Fitz, Founders, Smuttynose), and Old Leghumper gives me justice as to why. Not enough balance between roasted and chocolate malts, and I get a stale quality to it. It also goes down like water and I prefer my beers to be full bodied. I consider this a third tier porter, under the 3 i previously listed as top tier, and Black Butte being second tier. Still above average for the style and a decent offering

Appearance: This porter pours black and thick with just a few reddish hues when held up to the light. It is topped with 1” of tan colored head.
Smell: The aroma of Leghumper is of roasted malts and coffee maybe a little vanilla.
Taste: The flavor is similar to the smell with roasted malts and coffee but there is a little bitterness to it that might be from the coffee.
Mouthfeel: This is a rather thick porter it is oily, it is almost stout like.
