The beer was lightly chilled and served in a snifter.
A- The body of the beer is inky black coloration. No ruby opaqueness to light. the head is a tan coloration with major retention. Nice thick rings of lacing remains marking the beers passage from my glass.
S- The aroma of the beer is dominated by bourbon. Plenty of vanilla and oak are in evidence. Sadly the only aroma from the base beer I am getting is cocoa. I like bourbon and oak in an aroma but this beer leaves me nothing but bourbon and cocoa.
T- Much like the aroma the flavor is totally dominated by the bourbon barrels. Its not a bad flavor but the base beer is nearly gone. I taste a bit of chocolate and dark malt. The beer is bland.
M- The body of the beer is medium and lightly carbonated. The alcohol kicks a little heat.
O- I don't hate this beer but at 20.00+ a four pack I expect a hell of a lot more than I got with this beer. The bourbon barrels totally dominated the base beer. This beer needs heavy reworking. I will definitely pass this bottle by if I see it again. Reading some of the other reviews makes me wonder if we drank the same beer.

On tap at a local C-Bus joint. Finger of off-white head over a deep, rich dark brown body. V. nice looker (just like my date!). Whiskey, whiskey, whiskey on the nose. I hope that you like whiskey. Same song as far as the flavors go... with just a hint of dark fruit emerging from the whiskey river towards the end as it warmed. Good carbonation (surprisingly), and a nice smooth mouthfeel. Perfect feel for a BBS. Well, I hope that you are ready for a whiskey punch in the face. It could use some time to mellow, and I am sure that this is much better with a little age on it. It was ok... but I wouldn't push my grandmother out of the way to get one. I am now becoming convinced that I enjoy BB-aged beers much more from a bottle, with at least a year under their belts... on tap may be too fresh, and too whiskey for my personal liking. I would like to give the standard Siberian Night a go some time... I am sure it is quite good.
