Oh, this is a cool one. It starts with a cool label. Citra the super dog. It opens and pours to a pretty, clear yellow with a lot of lace. Very good. The aroma is good and strong and a little unusual. Those citra hops are showing.
The taste is as outstanding as it is original. I have never had an AIPA that had this much character but still was balanced and easy drinking. I might have under rated it.
It's bitter up front and continues into the aftertaste, but it is an unusual bitter. The things they did to make this single hop brew were worth the effort.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a teku glass
Very interesting brew. Definitely Not what I was expecting but not a terrible beer. Aroma was somewhat off with very little floral hop aroma. I smell the said mango flavor that the label proclaims, however it is not present in the taste. I actually thought the beer was old and oxidized at first but I double checked the date to make sure. Mouthfeel is ok...not much of a party in my mouth as some of the other citra IPAs I have had. Lacing is present in the glass and the brew has a nice head that dissipates slowly. Overall not the best brew but not the worst either. Is it worth a try? Sure why not.

Had on-tap at Appalachian Vintner. Serve in a tapered 8 oz glass.
A- Pours a murky dark amber, almost brown, color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before slinking down to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of sheer surface foam. Not-so-resilient lacing leaves clots behind.
S- Pungent C-hop aroma brings notes of tangerine, orange and grapefruit.
T- Aggressively bitter hops sink their teeth in and don't let go. Almost too much bitterness to discern any flavor that was hinted toward in the nose. The bitterness lingers and lingers and I'm still struggling to find anything else. As the palate acclimates, things become more tolerable but I still wouldn't say it has high drinkability.
M- Very sharp and dry with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.
O- The taste just does not follow through on what's shown in the aroma.
