Served in a snifter glass.
Appearance: Thick motor oil color, ridiculously dark brown almost black. The head itself is tan maybe a little darker than most other stouts, but with a thin frame settling after one sip. Originally rose to about a quarter inch, settling to nothing pretty quickly.
Smell: Smells like coffee with molasses. Pretty potent, might be a little rough but you will truly enjoy inhaling this one.
Taste: It's definitely bitter mocha with a hit of coffee. It's bitter no doubt but it's complexity is on another level that makes Siberian Night stand out from the rest.
Mouth: Sticky Icky, even with the right food pairing this brew's after-taste just hovers in your mouth. Medium bodied, easy finish.
Overall: I picked this up on my last visit to PA and don't I wish I grabbed more. Absolutely great, and for the price factoring in quality feels like it was free. Salud!

Bottle purchased at World Market in Charlotte, NC for $2. No freshness or bottling date on label.
A - Pours very dark, almost black. A fluffy tan head sits for a minute or two before dissipating. Great retention and good lacing. Probably the most carbonated RIS I've ever seen.
S - Bittersweet chocolate, touch of coffee. A hint molasses and black licorice is coming through. A noticeable aroma of alcohol also lingers.
T - Nice blend of all the mentioned aromas. They all blend together in this one beautifully. Dark chocolate maltiness at first, followed by coffee beans and licorice as well. Bittersweet chocolate then fades to a roasted finish. Very nice and well balanced brew.
M - Medium bodied and quite carbonated. I would like it more if it were thicker and the carbonation were toned down a bit. Warming is noticeable in my throat and gut.
O - Tasty, enjoyable beer. I would probably enjoy it more on a chilly winter day, as opposed to an 82º summer afternoon. Not my favorite RIS, but one I'll definitely have again.
