12Oz bottle poured into my Duvel tulip
A: Solid black pour with a thin dark tan head that recedes quickly
S:Delicious! Sweet chocolate, medium-roasted coffee with a hint of oak and the smell of fresh milk. It smells sweet
T: (Thankfully) not as sweet as the nose might suggest. Starts off with a bitter chocolate with a massive dose of coffee coming in later and a hint of vanilla comes in. The finish is long and bitter, almost burnt coffee, and is neither too sweet nor too dry. Very good
M: Very agreeable with little to no carbonation to come in the way of the intense flavors in here
D: It doesn't taste like a 9% beer and I could drink myself silly with these.
Two word review: highly recommended!

Bottle purchased at World Market in Charlotte, NC for $2. No freshness or bottling date on label.
A - Pours very dark, almost black. A fluffy tan head sits for a minute or two before dissipating. Great retention and good lacing. Probably the most carbonated RIS I've ever seen.
S - Bittersweet chocolate, touch of coffee. A hint molasses and black licorice is coming through. A noticeable aroma of alcohol also lingers.
T - Nice blend of all the mentioned aromas. They all blend together in this one beautifully. Dark chocolate maltiness at first, followed by coffee beans and licorice as well. Bittersweet chocolate then fades to a roasted finish. Very nice and well balanced brew.
M - Medium bodied and quite carbonated. I would like it more if it were thicker and the carbonation were toned down a bit. Warming is noticeable in my throat and gut.
O - Tasty, enjoyable beer. I would probably enjoy it more on a chilly winter day, as opposed to an 82º summer afternoon. Not my favorite RIS, but one I'll definitely have again.
