Pours a decadent deep black color with a near-mocha head. Good lacing.
Robust roast, dark chocolate, char, some smokiness, and a lot of malty bitterness. Barley grain with black malt and a sweet alcohol note.
Hearty and rich. Some licorice and coffee, along with notes of cocoa and blackberry. Meaty char and a whiff of peat. Really rich mouthfeel, which is to say that this bad boy has great body. Carbonation is kickin'! Beer's got a pulse. Awesome.

A: Pours pitch black. Initially I had about a half finger of light tan head. Tight bubbled. Lacing around the glass. Collar of light tan. Some alcohol feet.
S: Lots of char and roasted malt. Licorice. Dark chocolate. Soy sauce. Sweetness. Maybe touches of vanilla.
T: Tip of the tongue, molasses, char, dark chocolate, roast. Mid palate, some creamy notes. Vanilla or milk chocolate I guess. Dry dark chocolate on the finish. Long lingering notes.
M: Creamy mouthfeel. Good carbonation. Full bodied.

This is a rich and deep brown nearing black, featuring a head of nice rich brown hue.
The aroma is a little subdued. Sweet roasted malt features highly with some chocolate notes.
This beer starts out sweet with a little roasty malt, and transitions into a bitter chocolate flavor.
The mouthfeel is spot on. It is nearly heavy (if you know what I mean) and leaves a mean residue.
