Pure clear champagne coloured beer, with almost no head. In fact, forget the "almost" - no head at all. Looks very unfortunate.

Reasonable fresh nose, a little grass and a slight sour wheat note. Not very much, but not bad.

Nice sweet malt on the palate, with a light descant of peppery hops. Leavens out to a lightly sweet honey character. Quite reasonable. Mouthfeel is sparkling despite the appearance. Adds a bit of a lift.

Hey, it's not bad, but neither is it huge or spectacular. Pretty drinkable though.

Aroma - Sweet corn, cheap beer smell.

Appearance - Pale yellow, not much carbonation with a quickly dissipating head.

Taste - Refreshing, only a slightly offensive taste. This might be the most tasteless beer I've had in a while.

Mouthfeel - Thin watery and no carbonation

Drinkability - As drinkable as water.

Pours a pale straw colour with a small amount of white bubbly head when poured, disappears very quickly indeed, completely flat now with slow bead. Virtually no lacing. Meh, indeed.

Smells very lagery, with a reasonable malt character and a slight odour of fresh cut grass. All quite slight and simple. Again, meh.

A bit of sticky malt on the front palate, then trails off into a sour, watery finish, like hops were soaked but not long enough in the water to impart any flavour. Is not really interesting at all, rather monotonous palate. There is a slight finish, but it isn't very pleasant or even noticeable unless you're really looking for it. Could use more flavour, and could benefit from pouring some actual beer into the bottle, because I can't really find any.

Mouthfeel is painfully thin. Drinkable? Yeah, well water's drinkable. Confuckulations.

Bottle poured into a pilsener glass.

A- It poured a very pale, straw color with medium carbonation bubbling to a 2-finger, fluffy, white head that dropped to a nice lace that left some spotty rings on the glass.

S- Very mild. A bit of the sweetness that I'd expect of the style. Some of the cooked vegetable aroma (corn-like) that I'd also associate with it.

T- Pretty tame. A light grainy flavor that's a tad sweet with some more of the corn-like flavor that was evident in the scent.

M- Pretty light again. Clean wit medium-heavy carbonation. Pretty dry and clean in the finish.

D- Nothing to write home about. This import is the closest in style to the American macros that I've had in a long time. It's price was on par with much of the BMC at the bottle shop, so it's got that going for it. That and it's pretty refreshing on a warm evening.

When in Rome? There are like millions of people in Argentina drinking this stuff and you can get one liter of it for about two U.S. dollars. It does the trick.

The appearance is yellow, that of urine. It is really fizzy and comes with a pitch white head, and really goes away quite fast.

The smell is of corn and earth. It really does not have any strong characteristics smell wise, it is really just a mass produced brew.

The taste does not exist, its just blank.

Overall, like I said if everyone is drinking it and it is so cheap, why not?

This is a great import beer. Not too heavy of a taste, but the elements that are there are tied together nicely and make a delicious beer. It is extremely easy drinking and would go down smooth and refreshing on a summer day. From the moment I cracked this bottle I was in love. What a good buy.

I cannot believe this beer has a C-. This is a great beer. Quilmes is a Macro beer from Argentina, but none the less, it has a craft beer taste to it. This is hands down one of the best beers I have ever had. Not the best, but one of the best lol. Anyways, I bought my ex brother in law a 12 pack of 'Beers around the World' from Giant Eagle (grocery store that has a lot of micro brews, which is nice) Most of these beers were from macro breweries from, well, around the world. So, me and him decided to share the beers on Christmas Eve a few years back, and I was pretty surprised with Quilmes. It was so refreshing, but it was pretty complex IMO. I just want to give some props to this beer.

Poured a 12oz bottle, with a cool shape to it, into a big fat beer mug.

A- Very light, almost white, very little to no head, and a very minuscule amount of lacing.

S- Not much going on, but it didn't ruin the beer. Sort of a light lemony smell, with a smell that reminded me of Original Coors, gross :)

T- Very crisp and refreshing. Not too hoppy, sort of buttery, with some complex taste I couldn't quite put my finger on. Taste great though

M- Very light on the palate, no metallic taste going on here. Almost like a mix of Sam Adam's White Ale and Coors Light, weird combo but tasty

D- Super Drinkable, a great session beer. You could probably pound a whole 12 pack of this without a hangover due to its light body and flavor.

I tried it a few more times and I still loved it. I know there isn't much going on with this beer, but this is my opinion and I think it is an excellent macro beer. I would drink this over Sam Adams Light any day (it kind of reminds me of that). Give this beer a second try if you get the chance and really examine it this time.

Buddy of mine is beverage distributer/rep and I had one of these at his house after we played basketball. As one might expect, this beer poured thin, yellowish gold. It looked less like urine and more like beer, if that is any kind of ringing endorsement. The head was high and fizzy and my friend made fun of me as I examined it and he chugged his directly from the bottle. I noted that it actually had surprisingly good head retention. No lacing. No scent to speak of.

The taste is corn and bread with a nice malt back. Not too bad if you expect nothing but Busch Light with a touch of Presidente! Quilmes feels clean, crisp and NOT overly carbonated. It says something about a beer if you can drink two of them after playing basketball for two hours and find them as refreshing as gatorade, right? Well, I for one was pleasantly surprised by this beer. For my money, it's the best mass market South of the border beer there is. Only Bohemia (Mexico) and Belikin (Belize) come close. As such, this beer gets the highest possible marks for drinkability so long as it is taken for what it is. This is the Two and Half Men of beer.

Poured into a pint glass. Beer is light blonde in color, completely translucent, with ample carbonation. No head really, just a very thin sheet of white fizz. Nose is grains and grains, not much else. Beer is watery with mild bread taste. About what I expected which doesn't make it good, however, if you want something you can drink a lot of, it will work.

Source: 12 oz. bottle poured into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Looked likes the standard straw'ish gold of mass produced light beer

Smell: Maybe a little malt, but don't expect much

Taste: Just drink bubbly yellow water and you get the idea

Drinkability: If you can drink water, you can drink this beer.

Smell: slightly malty. some adjuncts. pretty clean

Taste: slight malty sweetness. lots of corn and rice. slightly sweet finish

Mouthfeel: light body. moderate carbonation.

Notes: well, i think the only other adjunct ive had was a leinie. so in that context, and being from argentina, not a bad job i guess.

Basically servicable. A common world-wide lilght lager with heavy usage of corn and/or rice. Poured with a clear yellow color; Soap bubbly head and lots of large bubbled lace. The aroma is beery with neutral sweetness and bare hint of hops. Flavor's like the aroma. Seems sweeter than about five years ago. Mouth is watery and a bit sharp that quickly fades. Finish is corn sweetner flavored with a bit of macro lager. This is from a can I got at the nearby Carrefour Supermercado in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina at my apartment here in Recoleta.
I know that I reviewed this here years ago and it's gone. Eh?

Appears a crystal clear pale yellow bright white head forms thick with large bubbles and a thin lacing forms spradically with each methocdical sip. Aroamtics offer up light cereal notes, light cooked veggies and a mild sweet sugar coated pastry. Flavor provides creamy sweetness with a touch of lemon grass in the finish, very thirst quenching offering along with the cooked veggies and creamy corn accents. Definitely not overbearing on the palate. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a spritzy natured carbonation, bringling clean finished with no residuals noted easily unchallenging to the senses much like co2 the watery texture adds to the unrefined and non complex finish. Drinkability is overall very enjoyable but it definitely is not remarkable a beer I dould reach for on a sunny day to quench my thirst but that's about it.

Attractive bottle colors.

Pours translucent gold, thin white head that doesn't retain well. Aromas of malt and corn. Simple. On the palate this bear is watery with an almost artificial malt sweetness, with more corn, and rather thin bodied. Easy drinking, almost no hops, but certainly would prefer this over any BMC offering at the office party with limited selections.

Better than expected, a bit on the light side but
drinkable pretty much year round in Texas, easily a session beer, not much flavour, but what are you comparing it to? If I had to choose between this and mass produced Budweiser, Coors and Miller this would get the nod. A bit of a corn kinda feel to it, like Presidente (from Dominican Republic if I remember right)

11.2 oz bottle

Pours a clear yellow color with a decently frothy white head. Now thats an unpleasant nose if you ask me. Stankin corny roasted malt, sweaty, stale, metallic, machine-like funk, corn flakes and a biscuit like sweetness going on. I get limes initially on the tongue, grassy and floral, this beers got some hop character to it, even if its not such a pleasant one. Tingly in the mouth, a bit too over carbonated, in turn making what little malt character this beer has drop right off the face of the earth mid palate. The after taste is nothing but whiffs at bitterness. I guess this would be a refreshing beer on a hot day but im not going to stick around to find out.

golden straw in colour. fine carbonation, no head retention.

Smell is of adjuncts and pale malt simple malts, a sweet smell with a hint of flowery hop aroma.

Taste is classic adjunct larger, sweet unfermented malts, corn and a very slight DMS tone but nothig to offensive.

Mouthfeel is thin and light, little bit low carbonation.

easy to drink adjunct larger a very standard example of the style.

Not much of any smell excepting a slight super sweet malty (rice?) smell. Pours to a pale yellow with a big bubble head that recedes fast but stays on the surface. Taste is sweet with hopping only in the far background at the start then coming towards the front in the end. Mouthfeel is very good, smooth with no overpowering carbonation. Overall, too sweet for me! If this is Argentina's favorite beer, as stated on the bottle, I think they know alot about wine, but are painfully ignorant when it comes to beer.

Poured from a bottle into a sleeve - a one-inch fluffy, foamy white head with a pale, pale yellow color to the body, and not much in terms of bubbles. The head dissipates into patches of foam and tendrils of lacing.

Not much for smell here - adjuncts, weak malt.

Taste is mild, sterile. Not much body, just watery malt, very little in terms of hops.

I got this as part of a beer sampler pack, and this was the Argentinian choice. I guess as a lawn-mower beer, it could work. But my advice? Drink this one cold, and fast.

Appearance : golden pale color, with white foamy head (not persistent).
Smell : grain and malty aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : malty flavors, slightly hoped with no bitterness.

Poured into a pint glass. Same old pale lager straw color with a fizzy white head. No lacing. Aroma is corn syrupy sweet with little grain. Corn syrup flavored mineral water with a touch of alcohol? Blech. This is almost cheap malt liquor bad. No coincidence that the name is almost 'Kill me.'

First beer in my lager reviewing evening (came second out of three for score). Also the first Argie beer I've knowingly ever had.

Brown 330ml bottle, poured into one of my Veltins Pilsner stemmed glasses.

Very pale golden colour with a brilliant white head. Looked crisp and clear, if a little anaemic (anemic in American).

OK lager taste, but nothing stood out and grabbed me with this beer. The 4.9% wasn't to be found either, it wasn't wishy-washy, but it wasn't a full bodied little babe you could cuddle up too.

A: Bright, pale golden/yellow color. Poured a 1.5 finger stark white head that dissipated quickly. Light, inconsistent lacing.

S: Wet sweet grains and grass. Clean (but light)bitter hop aroma.

T: More corn and grains. Clean bitter hop finish; again it was very light though.

M: Light body. Ample carbonation. Crisp and clean.

D: I could drink a lot, but I'm glad I only bought one. OK, no big imperfections that tend to stick ouot in this style...just nothing special. (I hope there are craft brewers in Argentina)

Hardly a great beer, this is nevertheless a good, basic, clean pale lager.

Straw yellow, it has a big, long-lasting white head that leaves even rings of decent lace.

The aroma is light with grain, honey, hints of herbs and lemon. Although light, the aroma is very pleasant and clean with a little complexity.

The taste also is light but thoroughly pleasant with a hint of complexity, but it is lighter than the aroma. It has light grain, lemon, 7-up, and herbal hoppy bitterness that is light but persistent and just dominates the finish. It's clean, crisp, and very easy to drink. The main problem is that the taste is too light and thin, which is too bad because what I can taste is good.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body with a few stray bubbles, but that's about it.

Smell: Sad, vapid nose with just a light touch of pale malt and floral hops.

Taste: Light pale malts with only the faintest sweetness. Meager floral hint with an almost non-existent bitterness. The rest is water, folks.

Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Shamefully watery. Great for rinsing out your glass for the next beer - hopefully one with some actual flavor and character.
