The name Doubt Stout is what this one was changed to. Originally it was to be called Pain in the Ass Stout because of extra work involved in developing the recipe.
Doubt Stout arrived in a pint glass. The body was dark chocolate brown, crowned with a mocha colored fluffy foam head. The lace was an evenly distributed coating of fine, but sticky lace.
The smell is dominated by toasted, charred and roasted qualities. Hints of chocolate and caramel with a subtle note of dark roasted coffee beans. The taste is also charred and toasty with sweet caramel malts, bittersweet cocoa, and strong coffee. Light grassy hops, coffee and the cocoa-like flavors add a pleasant bitterness and a lightly dry finish. I found this to be very well balanced.
There was a creamy, but thick mouthfeel in a medium to heavy body and a light carbonation.
Doubt Stout was very flavorful, thoroughly enjoyable and highly drinkable.
Serving type: on-tap
