This is the perfect summer beer and it is profoundly frustrating that Benton Harbor is not closer to my house.

The beer is hazy yellow with a funky farmhouse smell. The taste is tart but not puckeringly so. I don't know if I've ever had a beer that was so refreshing.

Pours a light golden yellow, hazy, tight white head with huge retention. The nose is a bit grainy, loads of peppery spice with a nice twang, notes of lemon and some earthy herbal notes. The flavor is more integrated but sweeter. A little bit too much sugar left over with a mellowed spice and nice lemon note. Some citrus hop with a notes of herbal hops. Medium body, a touch syrupy, lighter carb for the body.

On tap at The Livery on 4/26/08

Poured a hazy light amber color with thin off-white head and some lacing. Smells of citrus, biscuits, clove, and yeast. Tastes of lemon, biscuit, banana, clove, yeast, and candied fruit. Medium bodied, sweet, sour, and bready. Good flavors and refreshing, but not really my style of beer.

Had this one on tap at the Thirsty Perch in South Haven, MI. Great beer pub.
This one was an amber goldish type color with little head on the top from the tap. Funny odd wet sock smell but you also get some citrus smells too. The taste is great and doesn't taste like old socks but on the contrary - it is a smooth "country ale". Not very deep complexity in the beer but I would have another.
