There is also a Granite brewery in Toronto, but this is brewed and drunk in Halifax.

I had this beer at the brewpub in Halifax, a very nice place with the brewery at the back of the pub. I had the chance to look there after speaking with the brewer himself. After going through a very small door, I bumped into the mashtun, next to the cooking vessel. A very small brewery with place for 2 people maximum. Nevertheless, they brew very good beers, with this being the best.

It pours a orange/amber colour with smooth creamy foam and not very much carbonation.

Smell was very good, grainy like spent grains and a distinct citrus smell. According to the brewer they use Fuggles, which also adds a nice hoppy and bitter smell.

Taste was great, hoppy with citrus, without being sharp or overdone. Again the grainy taste, which adds to the balance of the beer and makes the beer more than one-dimensional. I feel that a lot of IPA's are usually only bitter, without having other tastes to balance. This beer has been dry-hopped, I can clearly feel it on the sides of my tongue. The aftertaste is dry and mild.
All together a nicely balanced beer, definatelly worth the try.
