the head on this is a disappointing large bubble mess. the color is a disappointing transparent yellow. smell is ok. smells like a wheat ale with some citrus and hop aroma. taste is disappointing as well. dry and gritty and and not that good. maybe a little better if it didn't have a lemon added but i doubt it.

Something weird happened revolving around baseball. The Summer Ale had a big baseball diamond scene on it, then that disappeared and this beer came out, still with a baseball label theme. Was it the same beer?
As Pete's began to have difficulties, it took its mild malty core lineup and began to develop more of a lighter, more yellow variety of selections. This one big shock, was yellow with 1/3" white head. Aroma was mild grain impression and a hint of lemon to it.
The taste was typical of Pete's, very mild, minimal grain impression, almost wheat like body and levity. Still had that hint of lemon and noble hop. I seriously don't think many could pick this and the summer ale out in a blind test, they were really similar, even right down to the use of baseball as a marketing and artwork angle (and it did look pretty cool).
Stuff was kind of the opposite of the flagship. The flagship truly brought American brown ale out as a style. This was more of a retreat to common well tread ground towards the end of the brand.

Petes Wicked Ales were some of the first craft/non-Bud style beers that started me on the road to realy good beer. This one has a light straw yellow color with a light fizzy white head which fades out quickly. The aroma has faint pale maltiness and a slight touch of tangy lemon. The flavor mirrors the aroma and offer a light thin easy drinking body. This makes for an ok summer beer but not one I would seek out.
