A brown colored ale with copper and red edges to it. Minimal head, white, decent lace. Aroma was slightly red fruity-ish.
Taste, berries and brown ale, a light winter type of session beer. Still have my old school tshirt of this beer, got it for buying a 6er, really became a stalwart in my fridge during college, the appreciation of a moderately hopped beer with color and slight fruitiness was kind of novel back then. Nutmeg all over this. Cinnamon detectable as well.

PURCHASED @: Cub Foods
COMMENTS: My cousin recommended this when he first started trying brews outside of a Bud_mill_oor. I dont remember it being as fruity as stated, but still much more character/flavor than a BMC.

enjoyed this beer before it got messed around with after the
company was bought out. When done right fruit beer can
really taste great and its a good seasonal change of pace. I've been finding some decent Rasberry wheats around during the
summer months my favorite time of the year when you drink
more than you wish you had and a nice strong Rasberry Ale
anytime is also worth seeking out. This company doesn't really
seem to be interested in making great session/seasonal brews
anymore, I don't know why they even bother with what little they

*$10 a case at Cook's Flea Market in Winston-Salem, NC*
I realized that it was very likely that something was up when a little "beer/wine booth" in an indoor flea market was selling micro-
Turns out my suspicions were correct - it appears this beer has not been brewed since late 2004, and I bought it in Jan 2006. Yipes.
Well, unlike the Pyramid beers I bought from the same booth (see reviews) this has not aged all that poorly.
This beer is red (obviously) from the use of raspberries in the brewing process. Small head with lacing.
The scent is the best part. Almost a lambic-like fruity sweetness with nuttiness underneath.
Taste is pretty much the same as the scent. Nutty qualities of a nut-brown ale show up in the body and aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is thin & watery. The taste disappears quickly and leaves a strange empty feeling in your mouth.
I'd like to try this beer fresh, because its not all that bad being a year + few months old.

This beer was a clear amber with an average head.
The aroma was of sweet raspberries, no hop character and malts somewhat masked.
The taste was of raspberry and spices... something like cinnamon, but not quite. May have been the nutmeg they said is in it, but it didn't seem like a regular nutmeg taste.
It was OK, but I prefer a winter spiced beer without raspberries.
