To hell with self-respect, but I actually like this stuff, especially on tap. Pours a blonde color with a minimal head. Explosive strawberry aroma. Subdued strawberry taste with obvious malts upfront. Strawberry taste is more prominent on tap Graininess towards the end. Granted, this isn't a beer I purchase all the time, but one that I'll drink if on hand.

Ok had heard bad things about this stuff..but was thirsty and hot and maybe a single of this would "hit the spot".
12 oz brown long neck..scary woman on front of label.
Poured into my mug this is actually an OK looking beer.nice crystal golden..with a good sized head..for a start..that goes fast..but still attractive carbonation strings rise to the top.
mmm I actually enjoyed the smell of this nice strawberry scent..but with some malt undertones that make it invigorating
Taste isnt too bad either,,better than many blondes I have tasted..the strawberry does not over whelm..but appears as a nice aftertaste..smooth sweet maltiness..minimal hopping..
kinda average on the tongue.
I was surprised ..I actually liked this..its a OK summer/spring beer for sure..though maybe 4 would be too much.

A small sized white head that consisted of fine-small bubbles. The body was clear with carbonation observed. The hue was golden and it left a good lacing on the sides of my glass. The nose was definitely strawberry and hops. The flavor was strawberry and the mouthfeel was smooth, tingly and thin.

very good seasonal summer beer I pick up, I enjoy
the slight strawberry taste. Served cold with a fruit salad
and some thai food or something spicy similar. Another
winner from Pete's. The strawberry taste as i stated is
slight so it should put people off they may not like a "fruity"
beer, it just adds to the refreshment of this style beer.

It's summer, so why not drink a strawberry beer? Pours a macro-yellow, but with a decent lacy white head. Spritzy strawberry aromas easily detectable--better smelling than I expected. The taste is a little too sweet, with obvious strawberry flavors. Finish is bitter with lingering strawberry. Unfortunately, I also picked up some adjunct-like taste (bad batch?). Not bad, but not my cup of...beer. Maybe I could pour it over some angel-food cake thought..

The beer pours a golden color with a slight pink tint that is hardly noticable. The head is white and thin. It laces the glass nicely. The nose is pleasant. Fresh smelling strawberries all the way. The taste is good. It is light with a decent strawberry flavor. The mouthfeel was good; a light body. It drinks great on a hot summer day, but not the best fruit beer I've had for sure.

It poured a golden straw color and had about a half inch head that faded quickly, leaving a lace around the glass. It smelled a little of strawberries. The taste had strawberry and hops upfront but disappears fast. Leaves you dry. Drinkable, chugable actually. Nice on a hot day.

I usually like Pete's Wicked ales. When I saw this Strawberry Blonde I had no idea that it actually had hints of strawberry in it. I figured it was just a name.

The smell was definetely strawberry, but not the fresh fruit you may think. This sweet smell reminded me of a scented baby's toy. Like a Strawberry Shortcacke doll, or some artificial berry scent. I was not impressed. Maybe since I had associated it with an artificial smell.
The brew is a very clear copper color.
It's a mild tart taste, with alot of bland aftertaste. Maybe if the aroma weren't so distracting I would have enjoyed it more.

-edit-
Drinking straight from the bottle, rather than pouring it into a glass helps control this powerful aroma, and makes the beer easier to drink.

Pours with a slight red tint to it. Comes to a head and fades, a touch of lace around the glass.

Aroma: Sweet, mostly malt and yes, strawberries.

Taste: There is a light malt taste and then the strawberry. I don’t think it is to overpowering like some other flavored brews, but it is sweet. I also didn’t notice any distinct hop flavor. It has a lite feel to it and goes down smooth. One or two is all I could do. A good flavored beer.

Pours a crystal clear gold body that displays tiny rising bubbles. The creamy white head holds OK before dropping to a thin collar; and it leaves some spotty lace. The nose exudes candyish strawberry above some mild malt. The body is light, and its fine and moderate carbonation leaves it quite smooth across the palate. The strawberry extract dominates the flavor as it does in the aroma, but the gently bready and somewhat wheat-ish malt gets more play. Hops are not to be found in the flavor, as might be expected, and the bitterness is quite subdued. It's sweet, but not cloying (there's not enough residual malt for that); and I think it works here. (Interestingly enough, the label advertises that it uses Cluster hops - the workhorse hop of America's regional brewers)! It's drinkability is limited only by it's lack of complexity; and it's a refreshing, light lager that might be just the right thing on a lazy summer afternoon.

First off, just because a beer has a fruit taste does not make it a "chick beer". There are plenty of wonderful lambics out there with big fruity taste. The difference with this beer is that it just does not taste good. This beer is very strange in that the smell does not seem to match the taste. The strawberry smell is very strong, however, when you take a sip, the strawberry taste seems to disappear. Actually it seemed this beer had very little taste of any kind. The look of the beer was fine, gold with pink highlights, and the mouthfeel was like a normal beer, but it just did not have a taste that matched its presentation.

This beer poured a golden color very similar to many American macro beers. There was a thin ring of head that left little lace. The aroma defiantly gave a strawberry taste with little else. The taste was quite bland. Berries were absent on the palate. This is a light-bodied beer that would be more drinkable on a hot day in the summer.

Pours a clear light reddish golden color with a thin white head. Nose is dominated by strawberry syrup with a faint trace of floral hops. The taste is rather bland and boring, like watery beer with a shot of strawberry syrup dumped in. I’ve had a few fruit beers that I enjoyed, but this isn’t one of ‘em.

Clear bright gold with a nice white head. Was hoping for a bit of a strawberry color ... none! A nice strawberry aroma. Much better aroma than taste - strawberry flavor was harsh and stinging (probably from the use of essence and not real fruit). Light bodied.

Not a beer I could drink more than one of; even on the hottest days.

Color is strawberry blonde, not surprisingly....head vanishes rapidly with just a little lace remaining.

Aroma is of artifical strawberry, almost like Starburst candy.

Tastes like a very average, boring brew with not-so-pleasant strawberry forced into the mix against its will. Nothing horrible about it, but it didn't do anything for me.

Not something I'd try again, even for a novelty or experimental beer.

My initial impression was "Who poured beer in my Frankenberry cereal?"

Seriously, this wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting. Appearance is light amber in color with a white foamy head. A lot of miniscule bubbles apparent leading me to believe this was going to be pretty highly carbonated. Aromatic strawberry scent with a touch of malt and hops present. Mouthfeel is light and crisp with plenty of carbonation present. Strawberry flavor dominates but is not overpowering or sickening sweet. Light malt flavor on the sweet front and middle. Strawberry finish with a touch of hop bitterness.

This is probably a beer I would try again, although having more than one or two in a sitting would definitely make me want to move on to something less "fruity".

Not bad actually...This sample came out of a fresh 2002 Pete's Winter Sampler 12 Pack and it poured a nice, thin, golden colour. This has a pretty good, thin head that stayed around for quite a while and it tasted like a very light beer with strawberry juice added into it. This, like most of Pete's beers seemed overcarbonated to me and thin in the mouthfeel department. Still this is a pretty interesting beer, but not something that you would want to have around all the time.

This beer poured a light gold color copper color. The head was a white color not all that there, and it left little lace. Some carbonation was present in the glass. The aroma had hints of hops, but there was a strong strawberry smell to it. Not a real strawberry though. Seemed fake. The flavor reflected the aroma exactly. It has hints of hops and the strong strawberry(artificial) flavor. Slightly sweet. Just like any other Petes it ended with slight bite to it.

Nice deep shade of golden. A little head recedes to a thin film quickly. Smells like one of the "Hostess" like strawberry cream fingers. Very sweet. Pick up a little hop bitterness as well. A little too carbonated in the mouth. Body is teetering on medium. Strawberry is heavy on the palate. Lager characteristics are hidden underneath the blanket of Strawberry Essence. I could down some of these on a hot summer day, but it wouldn't be on the top of my list (nor the bottom).

I usually would take a strong liking to most any Strawberry Blonde, but not to this one.

Strawberry Blonde with natural strawberry flavor pours a golden amber from a 12oz brown bottle. Head is slight and fleeting, leaving only a few bubbles on the surface of the beer.

Nose is distinctly strawberry. Palate is a malty hopsy strawberry, not a sweet kind, but rather a bitter strawberry with a bitter strawberry after taste as well.

This is not a sweet fruit beer, but rather a tart and bitter beer. I was hoping for more but got less.

I like strawberries. I like strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie, and strawberry milkshakes. I don't really like strawberry beer. Don't get me wrong the aroma is great, I could smell the strawberries while pouring it. Unfortunately it is difficult to make a fruit beer that I enjoy more than to satisfy my urge to try something new. That being said, my curiosity is satisfied on this one.

Light straw color with light head. leaves a tiny lace behind as the head goes fast. Light light in body, very little hops for bittering or aroma. Not a very strong malt taste either, and of coarse there is the strawberry which is a little over bearing. My wife likes it.

Pours a ultra clear yellow hue with a dishwater suds type head that dissipates rather quickly. The smell is overwhelmingly strawberry. The taste has a moderately hoppy strawberry taste that is light and crisp. It has a light body with alcohol on the tail. Fairly good if you like change. Cheers!

I used to enjoy this beer in college, back when it was doing its rounds as the feature beer at small bars. I once even had Chong (of Cheech and Chong fame) serve me this beer in San Diego. Anyways, the aroma is decent, but tasting it after many years, it is clearly artificial. The taste is light, and the bottle is finished in half the time it would take to enjoy a Bass or Guinness. IThis is because it's a little more watery than most Lagers. It's worth getting at least once a year, since I've known this to be a seasonal brew.

Seems like a very simple, average macro with a few drops of strawberry extract thrown in. I didn't think that the strawberry flavor was horrible, it just seemed artificial and out of place. The beer had a small, foamy head and a clear golden color. Small hop finish, little aroma (aside from strawberry). Slightly sweet. I think that they could have done a much better job.
