12 ounce bottle - $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a clear, lightly golden body with a full, white head.

Smell: Strong, though obviously artificial strawberry extract accents set against a tired, weak malt backing.

Taste: Light, basic maltiness for a lager sets up shop for the sweet, though still artificial strawberry flavoring which, thankfully, isn't terribly overpowering. Some slight wheat hints. Subtle touch of hop bitterness. Science-based strawberries leads you to the candyish, fruity finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Honestly, it's not a horrendous fruit beer, though it's nothing to stand on a table topless shouting about. Tolerable for a single bottle, but heaven help those who purchased an entire six-pack. (796 characters)

The appearance is this beer's biggest setback, the head runs away from the beer. A nice light copper in color, no lacing either though.

The smell is dominated by strawberry notes, but they seem pretty fresh, sweet, but expected. The taste is more of the same, with a very nice strawberry finish, I am quite fond of this beer, oddly.

The mouthfeel is a bit too bubbly for me, but kind of spritzy. Overall, a very drinkable beer, it is what it is. Worth a try. (460 characters)

This had some nice fizzy initial head, but it went down quickly, and had almost no lacing. Nice scent, wheat like and malty with a nice slight strawberry nose. Nice taste, malty and clean with a nice strawberry flavor running through it from the beginning to end; the strawberry taste is stronger than any other flavor, but it's still not overpowering. Goes down good, if a bit fizzy. (384 characters)

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.

The color is a clear gold with a foamy white head with so slight lacing.

The smell is a bit sweet with some strawberry flavor, not too strong a smell.

The taste is of strawberries, a bit like cheesecake, some nice sugary sweetness with a slight bitterness at the back end.

The feel is this beer is nice an pleasant. Medium body and has a nice finish to it. It is also pretty easy drinking and goes down well. (458 characters)

Well, I'm from San Antonio, and so is apparently Pete's Brewing Company. I had no idea until I checked this beer's review page out. Sad.

A - Pours a dark gold with a thin, white head that fizzles out after a few seconds. This resembles a common macro-lager. It doesn't appear very inspired.

S - Not much to speak of. A faint strawberry scent, I wouldn't even call it an aroma; nothing much else here.

T - Very weak, it doesn't have much flavor at all, and what flavor it does have is not very good. A faint strawberry tart way in the back, it's hard to distinguish from the rest of the beer. I wish I could comment more on the flavor, but it just isn't there.

M - Stings the tongue almost immediately, goes down sour. Does not feel welcoming on the tongue.

D - Drinkability? yeah, all day, it's like water. Now whether you want to put these down all day is entirely up to you, I wouldn't.

Overall, a disappointing showing from my hometown. If you're looking for a better strawberry-"infused" beer, I recommend Abita's Strawberry Harvest. It's not entirely better, but it's a shade or two more respectable. (1,111 characters)

Pours a fairly pedestrian pale yellow color with medium head.
Smells nicely of strawberries and spice.
The taste has hints of strawberries, malt, and a pale yeast.
The strawberry taste goes bad in my mouth, and therefore the finish isn't good.
Very smooth though. (263 characters)

Not sure what to say about this "beer", reminded me of Budweiser with an artificial strawberry taste. An unpleasant strawberry yeast flavor then lingered in my mouth until I cleared my palate with a PBR... also a wrong move, but not entirely tragic.

My one friend turned to me and said "pretty good, right?" to which I replied "no". I think that statement sums up this beer very nicely. (387 characters)

Presentation: 12oz brown pop top bottle with kind of trippy looking label

Appearance: This beer pours a bright dark golden hue with a stark white fluffy head with pretty good retention

Smell: There's a little bit of the typical "macro" "adjuncty" lager type aroma, sweet and grainy, but there is a bit of deeper sweetness as well, almost reminiscent of sweet pastry dough or something, backed up by a cross between fresh strawberries and artificially-flavored strawberry syrup.

Taste: There is very light malty sweetness (again, kind of adjuncty but definitely w/a bit more depth) backed up by strawberry flavor which goes back and forth from sweet to mildly tart. The flavor is sweet through the beer, but turns kind of dry and tart on the finish. I think I'm even detecting a little bit of hop sharpness on the finish (the bottle says this is made with the Cluster variety).

Mouthfeel: Light-medium bodied, crisp

Drinkability: Medium

Conclusion: This is better than other fruit lagers I've had (for ex. Leinie's Apple lager was terrifyingly awful) and it's somewhat refreshing, but that doesn't really make it anything special. It basically tastes like a better-than-average macro lager with somewhat natural strawberry flavoring added...Sum total? Ok, but only ok. (1,276 characters)

A = Nice light amber color, thin head and moderate lacing in the glass.

S = sweet...very sweet. The smell reminds me of those little grandma-candy bowl "Strawberry bon-bons"...in the green and red twisty foil wrapper....you know the kind. Almost a bit artificial.

T = This is in the same catergory as the "Miller Chills", Bud light lime", and Michelob cactus lime attempts. It is technically a beer, but a it too closely related to a wine cooler. Wery little hops, which do serve to offset the sweetness of the strawberry. Unexpectedly pleasing was the fruitiness of the beer. Not overtly artificial, it did taste quite good when balanced with the small bit of grain that came through with the low level hops. I thought it was a good attempt at showcasing the fruit and building a beer around it.

M = heavy on the tongue from the sweetness and fruitiness. nice tight bubbles in carbonation.

D = Well, this is one I would recommend trying for yourself. It is a drinkable beer, but not to start a session. This is something I would recommend for people who may be interested in transitioning from wine coolers, wine, or "fruity" cocktails to developing a taste for real beer.

Food pairing = I see this beer as being a perfect after-dinner fit, to be served as a digestivo with a dessert that is not too sweet or rich. Almond cookies, or shortbreads would be a good pairing because the crumbly nature of these deserts would go well with the bubble texture and fruity character of this brew. (1,493 characters)

This beer poured an orange copper color with a two-finger head. It smells like someone poured a melted strawberry popsicle into a generic macrobrew. The taste is almost totally fruit. Sweet malt that gives way to strawberry that tastes "wicked" artificial that completely overpowers what little hops are there and lingers in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is slightly thick with a moderate amount of carbonation. This is pretty drinkable, but not very inspired. (460 characters)

Appearance - For a "Strawberry blonde" it poured pretty pale...

Smell - Smelled alright. Definite artificial berry aroma detected.

Taste - Wasn't bad. A little fruity and carbonated. Aftertaste was definitely a "strawberry blonde".

Mouthfeel - Smooth aside from the carbonation.

Drinkability - I didn't want to stop...but honestly, when do I? (346 characters)

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.

A: A light orange with shades of yellow and a fluffy, short lasting head.

S: Smells intensely of strawberry juice, very light hops come through the mix.

T: This is basically alcoholic strawberry juice. Not a lot going on here. Slight hop bitterness, more of a malt flavor is evident than I expected. It was also thicker than I expected, which made it OK to drink.

D: This is a very "girly" beer in the sense that it is primarily fruity. Overall it's not as bad as one may think, but I'm not a fan. (544 characters)

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.

Fluffy off-white head, clear yellow/orange body. Weird strawberry aroma. I think that the hops are somewhat clashing with the strawberry smell/taste. This is pretty much a pilsner with some strawberry juice added. It's definitely something that most beer geeks would turn their noses up at, but it's a pretty good easy drinking "lawnmower beer". (395 characters)

A slightly clear yellowish orange color with a fizzy white one finger head that lingers a bit. Aroma of strawberry jam and has the faintest whiff of hops. The flavor is dominated by strawberry but it avoids being sweet or offensive in any way, mouthfeel is not as watery as I had anticipated, quite a bit of carbonation, a nice dirnker for sure. (343 characters)

Pours light copper colored with one finger of white head that dissipates in to a thin layer. A lot of carbonation. Leaves no lacing down the glass.

Smells strongly of artificial strawberries. Sort of like a Pop-Tart.

Tastes is similar to the smell. Strong strawberry presence. You can detect some of the malts in this brew, but only in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is light and carbonated.

Definitely not my type of beer. I could see why some might like this, but this isn't my kind of brew at all. The flavoring is way too artificial. This is something I might look for in a soda, but not at all in a beer. (608 characters)

Granted, the appearance isn't much. It's not bad-looking in itself, but head is light and lacing is very minimal.

Smell is pretty clean and entirely strawberry. A little artificial perhaps.

Malt and hops are a little thin on the taste though there is a nice flavor of grains in there. Strawberry is of course very strong in this one and it does seem to be for beer what Franzia is to wine. Sweetness is actually not overbearing as tends to be the case with fruit beers and alcohol hovers out of the forefront.

This one is actually pretty smooth with some nice carbonation. Pretty good mouthfeel.

This one won't appeal to most hopheads, as not many fruit or veggie beers would, but I will rate it up from what I would strictly as a beer just for what it's intended to be. (774 characters)

A: Clean hay brown with a bit of white head..

S: Sweet strawberries like strawberry jam on fresh toast.

T: Big strawberry flavor, though a little artificial. Quite tasty for a hot summer day.

M: Crisp and clean.

D: This was one of the beers that got me into craft beers. I know it isn't the best beer out there, but it is tasty, and great for a BBQ. Possibly the taste is purely sentimental, and I have of course moved on to much bigger and better things, but still something I pick up once in a blue moon for memories sake. (528 characters)

A- Pours golden color with a thin head, some lacing.

S- Strong (overdone) strawberry scents with a hint of malt.

T- Some malt and hops masked with strawberry flavor. Leaves kind of a weird fruity aftertaste.

M- Light bodied with ok carbonation.

D- Not a bad beer to try, but drinking more than one would be a chore due to the sweetness and fuit flavor. (357 characters)

A - Pours with about three fingers of head after a hard pour. Head shrank to a thin coating over the top. A very nice clear yellow color.

S - You can't help be smell strawberries after the pour. After the head shrinks, the scent is not as strong but you can still get the fruit.

T - The taste of the berry is not as strong as the pour's scent would make you be prepared for. What you do get is a grain taste from the wheat. The strawberry is there but only in the background.

M - A fair amount of carbonation. Still tastes light and crisp. Not much hop character though. Finishes dry.

D - One and I'm done. This is the second of Pete's that I have had after a long time and again I feel let down. I remember a more flavorful beer. This one leaves me wanting more taste. Not a beer that I would have again. (809 characters)

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is mostly of strawberries along with some light malts and a touch of hops.

T: The taste is fruity up front with a strong strawberry flavor backed up with a hearty grain breadiness. There's a mild hops presence that brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium-to-heavy carbonation, slightly sticky finish.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling but it's not as light as you would think, mild kick, this is one of the better fruit beers that I've had but I don't like it enough to drink it consistently. (771 characters)

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a glass handled-mug.

A: Pours a golden straw-amber color with a two finger head of wispy white foam which holds no lace.

S: Smells like a package of thawing frozen strawberries with a bit of toasted biscuit in the background.

T: Taste is sweet and grainy at first, but at least it's not in the fake, fruit-flavor additive fashion as other fruit beer tend to do. A bit like strawberry preserves on an English muffin, but in thin, ale form.

M: Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied and a bit too full of dextrin for my palate.

D: Drinkability would be way better on a hot summer's day, oh, or also if I were a female. ABV is sessionable and flavor isn't as artificial as they come, so it's worth a try.

Not to say this is a one-gender brew, but there's not a lot of substance to it and it wouldn't pair well with most food, even off the grill. Probably falls into the category of mostly a chick beer or one where guys can have one in the name of trying a new beer without feeling ashamed for doing so. (1,037 characters)

If you want the short review here it is, else read the full review below. Looked and smelled good, but didn't taste as good.

Poured this brew into my pint glass with a clear gold color topped by a half inch white head. Good carbonation. No lacing apparent.

Aroma first hit me of buttered popcorn but then mellowed out to strawberries and a yeast/wheat bread dough aroma.

Taste at first was similar to an over-carbonated hefe with a strawberry aftertaste. Wheat flavor giving way to a tart but not bitter like a hop bitter flavor.

Light to medium bodied, crisp on the tounge, too carbonated though, making you gassy and burp early and often.

Drinkability is average but I couldnt have more than one or two because they are too carbonated and uninspiring for me. (765 characters)

12 oz. brown longneck embossed bottle with a bottling code printed on the glass, just above the main label. It pours a fizzy yellow-gold with a thin white 1/4" of foam that disappears quickly.

The smell is mostly that of strawberry jelly and artificial strawberry candy, with a faint grainy wheat and barley note at best. No noticeable hops or alcohol at all...smells akin to Kool-Aid.

The taste is exactly as it smells, sweet watery imitation strawberry flavored "Near Beer" at best. Sweet, bland and boring with minimal carbonation and very light body. An artificial strawberry flavored Lager with too much cloying sweetness...average at best. (647 characters)

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. This beer pours a clear light gold in color with a half inch of head. Head shrinks swiftly yet does stick around to a lesser degree for about five minutes.

Smell is of strawberry milk powder from a Nestle's canister. Ahh, the memories. Good for milk, jury is still out as for beer. There is that certain imitation strawberry flavor involved in the mix, otherwise light malt and light hop scents do sneak through.

Taste is initially somewhat interesting yet finishes with that imitation strawberry flavor. Flavor and smell are subdued however and by no means overwhelming in the fruit department. Offers a decent feel with an appropriate carbonation level. And I find the drinkability average 'within the style'.

A light and easy drinking 'fruit' beer that isn't nearly as 'fruity' as many other iterations of the style. The obvious 'imitation strawberry flavor' I find in the beer is rather subtle yet disconcerting nonetheless. (979 characters)
