One of the great things about Beerfly is that you'll find places tou'd never give a second look to. This place is only 35 miles from my house, but I would usually be more likely to head north to Portland or south to Boston. I'm glad I went here, and look forward to trying it's sister, The Alehouse.
The Barking Dog is located on a one-way street, with some on street parking. There's a fairly large public parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. We entered into the bar area. A skinny, U-shaped bar with a flatscreen and tables on the periphery. A step down dining area off the bar. Plain, rustic decor, brick, wood, white walls. A bit dark at night, but there are white Christmas lights strung up, and they give the place a nice feel.
Sixteen taps. Our server said there was a good deal of rotation. When I was there, they had a single Belgian, lots of New England beers, and a lager brewed for them. I counted 33 bottles on the menu. Several Belgians, some Mexican, and a good representation of New England microbrews. And, yes, they still have the chili beer.
Pretty large menu. Soups, salads, appetizers, entrees. There's a separate page of pub food.
My ribeye was prepared the way I asked for, and was quite reasonable at $18.00. My wife had a another steak entree that was also delicious, and a good deal at $14.00.
Service was excellent. Very little wait from ordering drinks until they came, and very attentive. He even brought over a selection of Tshirts that my wife wanted to look at.
I'm very happy to have found this place. I now have another place to go for great beer and great food.

This is my local spot, and by far the best beer selection in town. 16 Taps that see a good amount of rotation. Some beers are always on, Bass, Guiness,Old Speckled Hen etc. But the majority of the taps do rotate. Recent offerings include Rogue FestiveAle, Fisherman's Red, Red Hook's Seasonal beers, Warsteiner, Otter Creak Copper. One other important note, all beer is served in appropriate glassware.
The bottled selection is good as well, with some Lambics, Leffe, Sam Smith as well as a couple of oddballs (Cave Creek Chili).
Atmosphere is relaxed and the prices are reasonable. Grab a seat right in front of the taps and flatscreen and enjoy.
