Served in a bottle poured into a pint glass. While Light Lager's aren't exactly my favorite beer, Stampede Light isn't bad. It's the ideal definition of a watered down beer. Doesn't really have much of a taste to it. It'll get you drunk, but I wouldn't drink it for the taste. I prefer this over Miller Light, Coors Light, and Budweiser. Definitely a very drinkable beer in large quantities and definitely much better than the Keystone and Natty's of the world.

Appearance: Pours a very light, yellow body. Yeah, there's a few moping bubbles, but to call it a "head" would be a dubious claim at best.

Smell: The absolute faintest whiff of sweetish cereal.

Taste: Watery from the get-go. Extraordinarily light hint of malts with a dash of stale grits. There's no hops or bitterness, but it doesn't really matter, because what little flavor there was fled the palate long ago. Short, watery finish.

Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: One to steer clear of. Yeesh! The trash they have the sheer gall to call "beer" these days. Dreadful!! The added vitamins have served only to fuel my anger.

From a Twelve ounce bottle - Pours a very light yellow that is just plain ugly. No head - just a tad of fiz. Smells only of corn and no hops in the nose. First sip is corn and some malts. Hardly worth drinking. A drain pour is warranted. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Pours out a light golden with a fizzy head that drops to a thin layer of bubbles on top.

Smell. I has a sweetness to it that reminds me of grape juice. it also has a little champagne smell to it.

Taste. Pretty neutral overall. tastes a little grainy. i get more soft champagne characteristics (but not exactly in a good way). But compared to the other low carb light beers, i say its decent.

Mouthfeel. body is thin with carbonation being on the lighter side. quite light on the tounge, making big gulps not a problem.

Overall, i dont particularly like it, but if given the choice between this and michelob ultra, i'd choose this.

Pours a crystal clear, very weak straw color—possibly the palest beer I’ve ever seen—with a short white head that quickly vanishes. Nose is raw grain along with a tart acidic fruitiness. Taste is very watered down with a bit of grain and just a hint of woody oak. Not recommended.

Appearance: Very clear pale golden color, with a large white head, abundant scattered lace, and quite faint carbonation.

Aroma: Lots of light malt, seemingly toasted, with a faint herbal hop presence.

Taste: Very light taste, with subtle pale malt at the open, and a subtle herbal hop note. Beyond that, there is very little to the taste. The finish is quite clean, with only a faint metallic hoppiness to bring the taste to a close.

Mouth feel: A bit thin with zesty carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Very much like a typical macro lager, with little to inspire or offend, similar to Bud Light, Coors Light, Miller Light, ad naseum.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve ounce brown glass longneck bottle with a twist-off crown, served in a standard pint glass.

Damn, I thought i'd had the lightest of light, the weakest of weak and the blandest of bland. I was wrong. Pours out to a light yellow color with a head of foam similar to what I get when I pour Sprite into a glass. Smell? I smell nearly nothing. Maybe some woody notes from the claimed "white oak chips" it's brewed with. A touch of malt. Taste is damned near mineral water. No hops to speak of, a touch of bland malt, and that's it. That's the show. Mouthfeel is water with bubbles. Drinkability is great if you wanna get wrecked and not taste anything. Special thanks goes out to assurbanipaul for the sample. He has once again, educated me in the world of little known beers.

xeryuspool hooked me up with a sample of this "beer"... thanks...?

Pours very clear yellow with a small head. Smells like... nothing. Adjunct maybe? Hmm... nothing. The taste? NOTHING! This is blatantly and inexcusably deficient. White oak? Where? The finest grain and hops? Huh? Natural flavors? What? Drinks like fizzy water, tastes like water, and offers less than water in the way of satisfaction because with a beer you might actually be expecting to get something out of it.

3.8% ABV... was this really brewed in New York, or was it Utah? I really wonder when people will realize that beer and the low-carb craze are two incongruous concepts. That's like watching a porno with all the nudity blurred out.

I'm a rube. I saw this on sale for 2.99 a 6 and that's a deal.

Pours out a straw color with minimal head. Surprisingly a lot of color for a light lager. While going to sniff this, I pour Stampede Light all over my damned leg. Smells like cheap sparkling white wine mixed with water. The flavor reminded me of cheap champagne and cheap tequila mixed together along with artifical sweeteners. Gag inducing. Mouthfeel is watery, slick, oily, and sticky all at once. I have no idea. This shit is gross.

Some douches want to complain about run-of-the-mill light beers being awful. They need to grow a pair and try a Stampede Light.

6 pack hand delivered by Beerdiablo. Free “beer”!

Bottle Inspection: Brown 12 oz twisty. “Malt beverage with white oak chips and natural flavor added”.
“Born in Texas, brewed in Utica, New York”.
3.8% abv, 115 calories, 5.5 grams carbs, 1 gram protein, 0 grams fat.

Aroma: Wet grain with a very powerful artificial citric powder note. It seems to have a very sour note as well

Appearance: Blindingly clear tepid yellow glass with clear white edges. It pours with a modest white cover that actually laced fairly well. Head gave out about 2/3rds the way down the pint glass leaving a lifeless looking yellow puddle.

Flavor: The aroma forecasts the taste rather well. The sour note isn’t as strong in the taste, but it’s still there. Grain water, that’s the main taste. The citric note is only a ghost of the smell. There is a slight grassy tea aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Fizzy water. Light body, lingering coat.

Overall Impression: I had very low expectations, I’ll admit.
I’ll start with the positive notes. There aren’t any obvious flaws in the brew. No seriously off tastes, excellent clarity, left a nice lace, and it is somewhat refreshing and thirst quenching.
Having said all that, I’m not a fan. There isn’t any real hop note to help balance out the grain. I know hops have oil, but I believe they are fat free. The fairly funky sour smell and taste have me a bit concerned. I’m assuming it was an intentional addition and not an infection since it’s the only real taste characteristic going on.
I’m going to finish the glass. That’s more than I expected. I wanted to hate this beer, and I merely dislike it. It’s much more of a style issue (light lager) than a quality issue.
If you know the difference between an American and an English Barleywine, drink one of those. If you drink Coors Light, Bud Lite, etc., you might as well make it a Stampede.

Dare I say "thanks" to beerdiablo for giving a free bottle of this? No, I don't think so...

An ultra-pale yellow-white color, with no head to speak of. Aroma is faintly grainy, almost imperceptable. Flavor is terrible: sweet, grainy, and ... almost vegetable-like. It doesn't taste at all like beer. Bleagh.

After half the bottle I poured the rest out. It doesn't taste like beer, nor is it a soda-poppish "malternative". I have no idea what the plus in "beer plus" is supposed to mean, but this is the worst drink I've ever had that was marketed as "beer." Curse you, beerdiablo!

I inquired about the beer and the owner, without my asking, offered a case to sample. My attempt to share with other Texas BAs fell flat, as the other BA's only would take one. Thanks guys.

Think of this as a watered down white wine cooler with carbonation. Seriously, it has a white wine bouquet. This is a malt beverage with white oak chips and natural flavor added. I think they should take off all references to this being beer as it’s a malt beverage.

All you need to know about this Non-Texas, Texas beer:
The website states that the brewer came up with the idea at a sushi bar.

Pours a light pale yellow, a shade darker than other light beers, thin head that disappears quickly. Aroma is a light grain with some lemon, not a lot of noticeable hops, some medicinal element.

Taste is grainy, raw pale malt, maybe even corn meal. Light tangy flavor, maybe some more lemon-lime or citrus flavoring. Borders on a fortified white wine, diluted, a light nutty sweetness, no real strong aftertaste. Not a terrible flavor, much more than a typical light beer but, as others have mentioned, this is closer to a wine cooler than a beer.

Mouthfeel is medium to thin, almost watery, very low carbonation. "Beer Plus" and "S+ampede" is how this is marketed, allegedly containing vitamins or other unnamed "healthy" additives that the "government" won't allow to be disclosed. Pushed very heavily locally but I'll pass, even if it's free.

From the label: "Malt beverage with white oak chips and natural flavor added" and "Born in Texas, Brewed in Utica, New York."
