Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with bronze hues and a fine, half finger off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit and light caramel malt, earthy and grassy hops; similar to traditional English hop varieties. Flavor is dominated by biscuit and bready malt, English hops with a mild citrus component, finishes with almost resinous grassy hop bitterness that tastes good, but has virtually no herbal component. Medium bodied with good carbonation. An old fashioned, malty IPA in the English style. Well hopped, but little herbal or fresh hop flavors. Balance is good. I liked the malts used in this, although they are more biscuity than usually found in an American IPA. I wasn't expecting too much from this one, and although it wasn't up to the bright standards of current Northwest IPAs, it was enjoyable as a balanced continental style IPA. I'd have this again in a pinch.

Wow...what a horrible IPA. As someone stated, too much malt on the aftertaste. Tastes like a New Belgium beer and nothing like an IPA.

Poured from a 650ml bottle into my IPA Glass
A: Pours a dark Amber with a thin white head and pretty good lacing.
S: A woody hoppy nose .
T: Strong malts with a good hop bitterness.
F: A medium body somewhat of a sticky mouth feel.
O: To strong on the malts for me and somewhat sweet, good hop on the finish. A ok IPA.

22 oz bottle. No bottling date info

Pours a golden-copper body with a slightly off white head. Good retention and lacing

Smell is pretty much malt forward. Bread with an applesauce thing. The smell is not very pronounced.

Taste follows this malt forward theme. There is a little hop bitterness. An interesting balance(or lack there of) having the malts so far ahead of hops. The funny thing is; I like it !

Crisp medium feel.

I don't know exactly what to make of this beer It's not a northwest style IPA or even really an American style IPA. But... I'm a sucker for beer and I did enjoy the malt forward taste. Will I have this one again ? Maybe...
