This beer was born 20 years ago in Jimbo's backyard. Hop forward, with a malty complexity, it won medals in home brew competitions in the 90's and has risen to international recognition and acclaim.
Rich amber in color with a distinctive hoppy characteristic, our Standing Wave Pale Ale is brewed in a traditional English style with Crystal malts and a select variety of American hops. Its complex malty flavor, crisp hop balance and inviting aroma make sipping this ale a real pleasure for the senses.

Pours an amber honey gold with a finger of foamy head that slowly settles to a thin cap with plenty of lacing. Malty aroma, kinda bready. Taste follows nose.

On tap at brewery. Pours a clear golden color with a fresh white head. Smell has citrus notes baked and grain. Taste has citrus spritz, palemalts and grassy bread note. Mouth feel crisp with good carbonation and well balanced.

Thanks Steve.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a nice sturdy bronzed orange to amber color with a coat of white foamy head that sat atop of the beer. Light stringy lace ran here and there.
The aroma captured a nice blend of crisp citrusy to piney bitter hops playing with a delicate toast to caramel malt base.
The flavor was basically the same with the sweetness taking the lead and pushing the bitterness a bit more towards the back end. Nice mild toasty to semi-sweet hoppy aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied but seemed to sit just a touch under with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Good pulled back sort of hoppy sweetness in the finish.
Overall, pretty nice APA that I could come back to, if given the chance.

On tap at the Dutch Goose. Normal pale ale characteristics, aroma, taste, etc. Nothing stands out, but no knocks against either. Good solid pale ale..

Pours a nice clean/clear amber color, nice carbonation, with a very nice one-finger creamy off-white head, nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is hoppy, with some citrus note. The taste is hoppy, slightly citrusy. Medium body. Overall a tasty brew.

Bottle from whole foods last week.. Finally found the time to give it a proper review tonight... Great off-white head with good lacing, clear light amber brew.
Pithy citrus and dry toast are the only real players... light maltiness mid palate but not enough hops to balance.. Nothing really wrong... but definitely nothing to write home about... AVERAGE. Falls flat very fast.
