I've attended many events and long nights at this establishment. Yesterday I stopped by for a pint and thought...why not review the place?

Located in a somewhat historic St. Paul neighborhood with much to look at. Also not far from I94, downtown St. Paul and the cathedral.
Parking is cinch here with a large lot in back. Somtimes it does fill up though in the evening, as they share the lot with the St. Paul Curling club. So a street spot will have to do. In this area there are no parking meters, so leave your quarters at home.

Walking in there is a split level, staircase going up, to the banquet room and the door straight ahead leading to the bar and dinning area.
The bar itself is gorgeous with great detailed wood work, brass rail to rest your feet on and lavish seating arrangements. Big tall windows line the place, although they are tinted and vines hanging outside mask the sunlight. The windows also point to the north so no sunset blinding light penetrates the place.
The taps are endless wrapping around the 90 degree angle wall, the bar also wraps with the wall, if that makes sense. Wood panels also line the ceiling.
If you dont sit at the bar, there are more booths surrounding the bar area, as well as a back formal dining booth area, with square wood tables and comfy booth seats on one side, with wood chairs on the other.

The bathrooms have all been tiled and are quite clean and fancy. Only one stall and 2 urinals, there is usually a line on busy nights.

Reasons to go;
Many great beers ontap, bottle form, cask beers and a decent happy hour.
There are many food options, cooked to culinary perfection. The food is mostly of smaller portions. There are actual chef's on hand, this is no typical bar food establishment.
The beer list itself is pretty large, hand written on a giant chalk board in all sorts of different colored chalk.

My only complaint is the prices. Its a bit more spendy. The food is pretty pricey and the beer is also a bit expensive. You can go to several other places in the area buy the same beer and pay $3 or more less for the same beer.
However those places dont serve the beer in the correct glassware.

Hell yeah, this place is pretty awesome. Very clean and neighborhood local bar feel. The bar is very large and provides a friendly, warm seating atmosphere.
Food was fantastic and reasonably priced.
Extensive draught list with tons of local options. Beers also reasonably priced.
The bartender was very attentive and friendly despite a busy Wednesday night.
A definite must stop if you're in the area.

They have 77 rotating craft beer taps and their turn over is fast enough that the taps remain fresh. They back the taps up with 30 or 40 bottled beers. I am in a rut and have been eating their angus cheese burger every month or so for the past three years - it is that good. The crowd can get loud but not oppressively so. Their charcuterie plate makes a nice after work snack to wash down with a few craft beers. If you stay long enough, try their dinner menu - its excellent.
