The value of BeerAdvocate, I wouldn't have stopped at this department store without the advice! Good selection of German beers, including most importantly several from Andechs, all at about 1.2 euros. Doppelbock Dunkel, Spezial Hell, and Weiss were all present. If my luggage wasn't so full from Belgium I would have bought much more than I did get. Nothing else to note here, maybe a few other German beers that you can't find in the USA but not much. Recommended for your Andechs fix if you're in Frankfurt!

Probably the best place in Frankfurt to get beer. As I recall, when I was there, they had several Trappists and quite a few other great Belgian/German beers.

As an avid BA, I was a bit bored with the beer selection in Frankfurt after a few weeks (helles, kristal, hefe, dunkel, pils... I get it), but this place had a nice selection that served me well during the rest of my stay.

The beer is downstairs, the upstairs is a department store. You can get to it from the Konstablerwache or Hauptwache stations. It's right on the Zeil. Stop by if you are in Frankfurt and need to stock up on beer.

This is a large department store located on the famous Zeil shopping district in Frankfurt am Main. The first basement level is a grocery/supermarket with a section for beer. The beer may be found in the soft-drink aisle. The beer selection is not huge, by any means, but it is good. Some of the beers found during my recent visit (Nov. 2005) were as follows: Chimay, Westmalle, Delirium Tremens, Samichlaus, Eggenberg Urbock, Andechser Doppelbock, Andechser Dunkel, and Andechser Hell. Prices were good; for example, the Andechser Doppelbock was €1.29 per bottle plus €0.08 deposit.

Definitely worth a visit if you are near the Zeil, as I have not found many other beer stores in Frankfurt, and the availability of Andechs alone makes it worth the visit.
