A small square shaped room with maybe 10 tables, and a counter that should be the bar, but has no taps or wet service. The 3 of us sat there. We met a wonderful guy that is really in to beer (he is from PA), whihc made the visit enjoyable. There were 4 drafts, which honestly disappointed me. There was Weihenstephaner Hefe, Anderson Valley Winter Solstice, St Bernardus Christmas Ale, and I forget the 4th. There are also bottles, maybe 30-40? The selection of IPA's wasn't great, but there is no doubt something for everybody here. I thought the prices, for a non-descript bar were too high. Bombers were double store prices for example. Not rip off level, but just a little too much for where you are. Did I mention no west coast IPA's?
Didn't try any food, but there were some interesting options there, although limited in number.

Finally got out here after reading the other BA's reviews, and oh yes, I too remember Murray's (RIP).

Had two beers-a Skullsplitter and a Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout. Spent most of the time talking to the bartender,(not Steve the owner),about beer and brewers. Very knowledgable, and he gave me some more beer places to check out.

Hey, the beer drinking was great, but when you're drinking with people that "get it", more's the joy! I for one will definitely will be at BT's again-hopefully sooner than later.

An oasis of Florida places near the beach. Specializing in top-notch Belgian beers, prominently stacked and displayed as woud be a good wine bar. Cozy, casual, staff closed up earlier to enjoy their own beer, and opened up for me. Four taps only, but great selections. Of course the appropriate glasswear and temperature. Not for selection, but to enjoy a beer, I would hang out here. Prices a bit on the high side, you pay for quality. Could become a bit more upscale, but then it would not be the same place.

Found this place through BA and finally made it in for a taste. I'll condense what's been reviewed already and give some of my personal experience. The location is great, corner of A1A and Atlantic. The interior is extremely clean with 6 or 7 four-tops and a small bar. The bar is more like a longer high table up against a wall. The taps and beers are in the room between the kitchen and dining area. It's like they bought a restaurant and never renovated. It's extremely clean and comfortable, but quiet. I may have been there too early on a Friday but next time I'll try and bring a crowd with me. Anyway, those are the reasons for the lower atmosphere ratings.

The selection is fantastic. As stated, 4 rotate on tap. Whlie we were there it was Lost Coast Scotch Ale, Einbecker Schwarzbier, a pale ale from Mendocino Brewing Company, and something else I can't remember. I had the Schwarzbier and a bottle of John Barleycorn from Mad River. Everything there is served in it's proper form, glass-wise. The selection was great, the best I've seen in this area. A lot of Belgians.

Food was also good. I had the soup special, a spicy chicken gumbo, and split a burger with my wife. Everything was top notch. We were in teh mood for barfare, but their special looked fantastic (next table over): pan-seared snapper on a bed of Japanese noodles with a plum sauce.

Service was great and knowledgeable. It was my first Schwarzbier I was surprised at its mildness compared to its color. He explained what a traditional Schwarzbier is, and upon some research, it checked out. He also offered tastings of any of the drafts.

I'll be back, with friends. Go check this place out.

I stopped by on a recent trip to Florida (Thank you BeerFly!!). It was around 10PM and my girlfriend and I were starving and thirsty. We were fed with great food and we washed it down with wonderful beer! What more could we ask for?

They had 4 taps but had a very nice selection - Paulaner Hefeweise, Welsh ESB, Scaldis Noel and Le Chouffe! They also had an excellent though not huge bottle menu.

They bartender/server was a great guy from Pennsylvania who was friendly and very helpful. We only stayed for one but it would be easy to plant yourself there for a few!

Definately on my "must" list for the Lauderdale area!

This is my favorite spot in Broward County. It is a small little hole in the wall on Atlantic Blvd, walking distance to the beach. The only reason the atmosphere got knocked a bit is because it does not stand out as far as the interior goes. Not bad, but not exceptional. The food is great. Steve makes such good food I just get whatever the special of the day is. The beer selection is limited only because of distribution issues in Florida. They have the best of what is available here. Including some beers on tap that are tougher to find. Last night I had Urthel Hop-It on draught. All beers are served in the appropriate glass wear and Ian knows as much about beer as anyone I know. This is the place to stop if you are in Broward.

Ok now this is really a cool little bar to try and hit whenever your in town. They have to have the best draft selection anywhere around here, well anywhere that I have seen anyway. Lots of great stuff from some small Florida breweries that generally do not make it out of the state, as well as rotating taps of some special things every once in a while. They had a JLS on last time I was there, Hop Heaven, very nice. Anyways always a friendly atmosphere with good entertainment as well. This is definitely a solid choice whenever you are in the area and want to kick back and have a couple. I would defiantly stop in and say hello, I don’t think you would regret it.

My single favorite place in South Florida. A cozy, personable atmosphere that prizes quality over the local norm of empty glitz. The menu is limited, but you cant go wrong with any of its choices and the daily specials are always just that. Dont ever pass up a soup special, you will regret it.

BT's is all about the beer. What points they lose are through no fault of their own. Beer distribution is disappointingly limited in the area. We cant get Stone, Brooklyn, Three Floyds or New Belgium brews here. Nevertheless, the chalkboard is full of superb standards; Red Seal & Rasputin, Prior 8 & Apt 12, Three Philosophers, Duchesse and Hazelnut Brown Nectar, etc.

Look to the specials for 4 kegs on tap, generally at least one of each a german, belgian and amercian. They usually have 3 or 4 seasonal or featured bottles. Last I was there it was Burton Baton, Rodenbach Grand Cru and Scotch Silly. Watch for the belgian seasonals as Christmas approaches. You cant do much better than a bowl of 'Monk Madness' paired with a 2006 Delirium Noel.

This is quite a rare place for South Florida these days. A very nondescript spot in a great location next to the beach. With that said, it's not the type of place that tourist will be found at.

Simply put, this place is very low key and inviting. It's your neighborhood spot, but with excellent food. I had the $4 house salad, and I must admit that it had the most flavor for a salad south of $12. The artichoke quesadilla was also a pleasant surprise.

So what about the beer? They have 4 beers on tap that they rotate. 2 were U.S. micros, and the other two were German and Belgium. The temperature was perfect, the price was very fair ($6 average for 16-20oz) and the presentation was appropriate. Their bottle selection was also well chosen and reasonably priced.

This is not the place to take your trophy date to. You will not score any points. But if your catching up with that buddy of yours, this is the type of place that you can spend hours in. I will certainly be back.

This is a really great place like the previous review. The typically have an American Micro on tap and three Greman/Belgian beers as well. Ian behid the bar really knows and loves beer, it really shows in his service. The food is fantastic if you go there always, always, always try the soup they are from scratch and never dissapoint.
The selection in bottles are great and I have been turned on to many great beers there. This is a great local place a good place of a dinner date, beers with friends or to kick back a great beer after work. If you live in South Florida you need to give this place a shot and if you are visiting stop in and enjoy great beer.

Let's start with the important stuff; there is always a respectable variety of fresh Belgian and German beers on tap and just the right temperature for your enjoyment. There are many many more bottled beers and wines available too. Each draft is served in the appropriate glass (not something to be taken for granted these days) and your wine selections come in a generous serving too.

The only thing that equals the excellent beer and exceptional service is the food. Any first trip in there should include sampling the food. Anything on the menu will be a pleasant surprise and the prices are the best of any establishment around. (average $9.00 for a generous portion)

Don't let the understated decorations scare you off. (I'm sure the owners are waiting for some profits before investing in that improvement and we're glad the focused on the important stuff first.) The place could use a few candles on the table and a few more tunes in the jukebox.

It's not often that a place like this opens in a town like Pompano Beach. Good beer establishments tend to favor the more swank addresses these days even though drinking beer isn't as popular as it used to be. I'm hoping that the citizenry of Pompano recognize and reward the owners by visits and repeat visits to the establishment.

If you blink you'll miss it for it's nestled tightly between a sub shop and one of the many nail establishments. Since its located on the south side of Atlantic near the corner of A-1-A, you'll likely be focused on the traffic, bikini or beach up ahead. That's ok though for you'll be able to hook to the right and then another quick right to park in the parking lot behind it. (there is always plenty of space)
