This is a nice brew shop. The guys are super friendly and pretty knowledgeable. Pretty close quarters in there, but it comes across feeling nice and cozy.

Upkeep seems good. They've got the industry standard ingredients with regards to quality, which is all I'm looking for.

Service is pretty great. I really enjoy swinging in and running ideas past them. I haven't once been made to feel like a question I asked was stupid - I always feel respected as a fellow brewer and appreciated as a customer.

Selection is on par with most any other brew store. The past few times i've been in they've been out of certain grains and yeasts I was looking for. Not a huge deal, but not convenient either. I will say, though, they do have a lot of semi-obscure specialty grains in stock. Makes for a fun time during recipe concocting.

Everything is reasonably priced.

I love shopping here. Staff is great.

Right next door to Equinox brewery. I think they are related somehow but I don't know. Several good kits, a cooler of fresh hops, and great selection of grains. The atomosphere is a little cramped and commercial, and the guy at the counter never spoke to us.

Lots of choices, and good equipment around. Better than anything I have at home, but you can't stuff a big selection in such a small spot. Perhaps there was more to it in hidden places I didn't see, but overall my impression was underwhelmed.

We picked up a recipe for our first homebrew, a nut brown ale. Didn't turn out great, but that was our fault. The guys there were very enthusiastic and helpful, the price was very reasonable and they had everything one would need for brewing and kegging. This is a fantastic resource in town for homebrewers, and we're lucky to have this here.

Hops and Berries

Thankfully this place is not too far away. Their selection is good, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the knowledge and experience of the staff is great. I purchased my starter kit and all the bells and whistles their and was very excited to have my own equipment. Collin, (I think the owner) although very knowledgeable, seemed put out by discussing basics. I watched him interact with more seasoned brewers and he was awesome. His partner (?name) was very patient and really got me excited about the craft of this hobby. Overall, I am very pleased with this shop and will buy from their as often as I can to support the local guy.

Cheers!!!

Hops and Berries is a very classy joint. They have a wide variety of Hops, Malts, extracts, yiest and equipment. Although one of my buddies thinks Collin seems a little cross I have always had good experiences with him. He has a vast knowledge of brewing and techniques and has alway been helpful. Although I do alot of my supply odering online I make special effort to visit Hops and Berries for supplies as well. The staff seem more interested in selling you on brewing beer and the experience and not just selling you product. They talked me down to a smaller started kit than I had intended to buy originally to insure I was happy with the hobby before I spent to much money on it.

As I was just starting to get into home brewing. Several different people told to go up to Hops and Berries to get my starting kit.

When I first entered I took time to look around and was amazed with the selection of different equipment and materials to brew with. This place had everything I was looking for to get me started. Their staff was very helpful and can help out with recipe questions you may have.

They host home brewing classes several times during the week.

I bought an intermediate starting kit that was a at a good price. They also offer other levels such as beginner and advanced. This place was not all that big but spread out enough to have a good display.

Their up keep was very good and seemed clean. They also offered to order anything they didn't have in the store.

This is a great place to go for brewing supplies and equipment, regardless of your level of expertise. Collin, the owner, and his sidekick Anton are both a wealth of knowledge and skilled brewers to boot!

They carry an impressive selection of whole grains, a wide array of hops, and bulk malt extract made on site. There's all sorts of tempting gadgetry too so be careful! If you want to make wine, cheese, or even roast coffee beans, it's all right there.

Overall, Hops and Berries is an excellent source for homebrewers and a favorite destination of mine when I'm in Fort Collins.

Hops and Berries is a great homebrew shop. They have an excellent selection of malts, yeasts, and hops (or as good as can be expected given current supply issues). They also have virtually any equipment you need, and if they don't have it they'll either special order it for you or tell you where to get it.

The best part about this place is that both of the guys who are always working - Colin or Anton - are always happy to give you good information. They're not there to try to "sell you" on something. They are both phenomenal resources, whether it's advice on a recipe, your mash schedule, or whatever it may be.

Besides beer brewing ingredients and equipment they also have ingredients/equipment for mead, wine, cider, and even coffee and cheese. The also have brewing classes.

With decent prices, great selection, and knowledgeable/friendly staff I don't know how you could get much better.

This place had everything I was looking for. There staff was helpful and can help you out with recipe question you may have. There yeast selection was good and has gotten even better the last time I was in. Also they are hosting home brewing classes that are good for swapping recipes and tips. I bought a few carboys there for a good price and looked at there pre made kits they had. They were split up by popular brew types and by level : beginner, intermediate, and advanced. This place was not all that big but spread out enough to have a good display. The up keep was very good and seemed clean. They also offered to order anything they didn’t have in the store.

I have just recently moved to Colorado, and being a homebrewer, I quickly visited Hops and Berries located very close to Old Town Ft. Collins. Although the store is relatively small, they have everything you need.

Like most brew shops, they have both wine and beer brewing supplies. They have a large assortment of malts, larger then some of the stores three times the size I’ve been to before in the past. A good amount of equipment for both beginner and veteran. Their malt selection is really good, with a big variety.

One thing that I really liked about the store was the owner Colin. He is very helpful and insightful on everyone needs. They have classes on different nights and he is a member of one of the local homebrew clubs (liquid poets). He also is experimenting with different ideas (for example he received different wort samples from a brewery and pt different yeast to compare the different tastes). Really the staff is top notch.

I came across this establishment while visiting Fort Collins recently. I was elsewhere having a beer and learned that Fort Collins had gone from three home brew shops several years ago to none at all for quite some time. Imaginge being in a community where you can find Odell, New Belgium, Fort Collins breweries all within a short walking distance of each other (Not to mention a couple nice brewpubs) and no home brew shops!

Collin, a professional brewer and now the proprieter of Hops and Berries, was just as surprised when he moved to the community.
The store is clean, open, airy, and well stocked. Yeasts are current dates, and selection of product is good. Collin is involved in the local beer scene and arranges homebrew meetings at the local breweries.

I only wish I lived closer so I could take avantage of his shop and his brewing wisdom!
