Located right off highway 152 in the strange retail sprawl that is Gilroy. Wide range of beer offerings- Ommegang, Stone, Alesmith, Rogue and Snake River, to name several. Extensive Belgian collection, the only 750's of Delirium Tremens I've seen. They may be commonplace elsewhere, but this is Central California- things tend to show up here later than the rest of the state. While I was there, the beerguy was getting ready to put out some Great Divide Titan IPA, and another GD, I think it was a DIPA. One cool thing about the staff- once it was established that I knew what I was doing, that I wasn't just wandering aimlessly amongst the aisles, THEY LEFT ME ALONE! Probably off the beaten path for the beer tourist, but worth a look.

They carry some of my "GO to" brews but unfortunately, there are times where I am forced to drive up to San Jose or local liquors for the more limited selection (Firestone Proprietors Reserve, Stone Enjoy by, Bourbon County).

One good thing about the BevMo chain is if you're from out of town and see one, you know what you're getting yourself into. Usually a good beer selection away from sunlight, and a staff that can help you if you need it. The Gilroy store is no different from the rule. Most of the beer is at store temperature, a small section is refrigerted. Expect to see Speakeasy, Moylans, Rogue, Ballast Point, Rubicon IPA, Blue Frog, Samuel Smiths, Tucher, Erdinger, Grand Teton, Bear Republic, New Belgium (including the Lips of Faith series). It's on the eastern side of the 101, and if you go a little farther east, you will smell garlic. Fun fact: Gilroy is the garlic capital of the world.

Located off of the 101 at the Pacheco Pass/ 152 East exit in a strip mall complex. Stopped off here to pick up VE 9-9-9 on the way back to Santa Cruz. Bigger than my home (Santa Cruz) Bevmo. More micros-including more bombers from Bison, Moylans, Full Sail, and Avery. Also, larger selection of imports-including line of Unibrue. Service was good, the manager was very beer smart and I was able to chat with her about their selection-value is no different than other Bevmos. Good place in Gilroy to pick up better brews, or when you are driving down the 101.

This is the 3rd BevMo I've been to, and definitely the worst so far. (The other two were in Fresno and San Luis Obispo).
The Gilroy BevMo was much smaller than the other two I've been to, and the beer selection was tiny in comparison. I went in expecting to see a pretty good representation of NorCal brews, however the only beers that I had not seen at the SLO store were Censored and Sirius from Lagunitas. There were also a couple of six packs some Morgan Hill brewery, but they didn't look too good so I passed. The BevMo in San Luis Obispo definitely has a much better selection of northern California beers than this BevMo had. Mendocino, North Coast, and Anchor were all especially under-represented. I was hoping to find something from Russian River there, but I'm not sure if they even sell their beers outside of Santa Rosa. The cashier (the only person working there) didn't seem to know either.

About your typical Bevmo location however it is a bit smaller than bigger ones in San Jose. Despite the size, it seems like they carry a good selection of brews; I found some beers here that I couldn't find at any of the locations around San Jose. The service is good, I have met a few employees there who had some insight into quite a few of their brews which was certainly welcome as compared to other locations. As with other Bevmos, the prices in general are pretty reasonable and you can get a long deal every once in a while when there is a sale going on.
