This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

This is an unfiltered, full-flavored, German-style wheat beer with a nice balance of clove and banana esters. Made with 50% wheat malt, it has a beautiful pale straw color and thick head but is light enough in body to not be too filling.

Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a hazy, goldenrod coloring with a thin, filmy white head. Aromas of butter and toasted grains, although very subtle. Flavors are somewhat sour and floral, more sweet and tangy than your normal Hef. Buttery notes come through again in the backbone, with a weak spicing at the end. Smooth but somewhat watery body with a sparse cling along the glass. The aftertaste is light and somewhat roasted grains based, leading to a slick, oily finish.

I'd like to update this one as the recipe has changed. I don't know what exactly but Ron (head brewer) said the formulation is different from what his predecessor was brewing. (Thanks for filling this for me on such short notice for the long weekend!)

Picked up a sixtel at the brewpub this afternoon. Pours a hazy, translucent golden color with clingy, lacy lines iin my Schneider weizen glass. Slight biting scent of lemon with clove and a similar flavor that drops hints of banana on your tastebuds. Very smooth carbonation that is insanely quaffable on this 90 degree late May evening. Clean and refreshing, a very good take on the style. Looking forward to drinking this for the next couple of weeks in the warmer weather.

Stop by and give this one a try, Milly's is brewing some solid stuff these days!

This Hef was not specified as "Indian Summer Wheat", and it does have lots of Hef character.
Very hazy light gold, with the never asked for lemon wedge, and practically flat.
Good aromatics, medium bavarian character- hard to obtain, due to level of carbonation.
Estery and lightly tart.
Thin on the pallet, a bit watery, but tasty.
Light bitterness, bannana peels and a hint of clove.
Finishes quick and thin, a bit tart.
Not sure if this was old and a bit stale, or if could have been great at one time.

I stopped into Millys yesterday (16JUL11) for some refreshments after spending about 6 hours out in the woods in nearby Dunbarton "killing" Krauts in a WWII tactical.

Planned on having a couple; ended up having 4 pints of this nice summer offering. It poured with the typical haziness of a Hefe, with an amber color, scattered carbo, a very short white head, and decent lacing. Aroma surely wanted me to indulge further, with a pleasing banana-clove combo enticing the olfactories. Body was about a medium, and it was fairly smooth even with the expected bubbliness from a Hefe...

Crisp and dry, and it had a solid amount of banana, with clove present yet not overpowering. Very clean, and quite refreshing on a hot summer day. It really hit the spot, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
