had sitting at their cozy little bar, this brews a deep copper, clear and has a little off white sticky head. aroma is subdued, floral hops with some caramel and bready malts but nothing crying for attention. taste is smooth, heavy hit of bitter hop notes start off, sweet toffee and caramel malts quickly take control and it all leaves a bit of lingering hop. drinks easy, enough aftertaste to make ya grab another sip. pretty good stuff

This was the best beer tried during the night. This was a really nice Pale Ale and probably one of the better ones i have had. A little more hoppy than some of the style, but that is probably why I like it even more. It is floral, fruity, citrusy, with a noticeable bitterness. Very drinkable.

I actually wish you could buy this one in stores by the bottle or can. I would make this one a go to purchase for sure. This may be better than some of the current stand by Pale Ales such as SNPA.

Would Drink Again: Yes

Single finger head with nice retention in a clear copper body. Excellent lacing. aroma of caramel, earthy hops, peppercorn and toasted malts. Flavors of toasted caramel malts, earthy and herbal hops and breads. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice combo of crisp and slightly bitter finish on a nicely balanced brew.

Had at Square One Brewery 5/27
Served in a pint glass

A: This beer pours a deep amber, chestnut with a one finger of foamy, khaki colored head. Head recedes quickly leaving one big sticky sheet of lacing on the glass.

S: Nose is slight citrus mingled with a hearty caramel malt.

T: This is a very malt forward APA though not overdone. Hearty caramel and toffee mingle nicely with a strong piney hop presence that lends to a citrus bite in the finish.

M: Medium body, medium carbonation, rich silky body to this.

O: Goes down easily, tasty, not too filling, mild kick and a nice represenation of style. I could have a few pints of this one in a night.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of hops, sweet malt, yeast, and slight grain. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. There is also a slight tartness present. Tastes of citrus hops, sweet malt, hint of alcohol, and slight yeast. Overall, good aroma and body.

Poured into a pint glass.

A - Pours a very nice a clear amber color with a slight haze. A nice dense and sticky head that was off-white and retained well.

S - Quite grassy and earthy aromas and nice hop punch from the hops. Surprising for more of a Pale Ale. Nice dry hop aromas.

T - Starts off with a nice citrus, grassy and dry hop flavor profile. It is surprisingly similar to their IPA. There is more of a bready and sweet malt profile that balances those hop characteristics. Very delicious and from the cask especially so. This is a great ale with good grainy flavors that get a nice kick from the hops.

M & D - Nice medium body with some great spice and booze character. Great from the cask. Very drinkable and delicious.

For a pale ale, this came out a surprising deep and clear mahogany brown, with a good tan head in the ol' pint shaker.

Aroma was a mild and light woody resin, with the malt lingering about. Quaff was indeed good and different for this style - caramels, malt, and an earthy leather aspect which mixed together well, creating an unique and tasty brew.

I recommend this brew to all, give it a try - and don't expect the normal pale ale.

This is a good version of an APA. It has a deep copper colored body with an average off-white head and lacing. The smell was fruity and some what bitter it kind of reminded me of greenwood and citrus. It has an even bitter taste that is well rounded with citrus, melon and herbal flavors. It has almost a medium mouthfeel.
