Went to Square One Brewery with my family on a cool September evening. The patio was quiet being about an hour before the dinner crowd arrived. We sat next to the stone fountain which kept the kids mesmorized.

Service was personable and quite fast. The beers and entrees were all explained in detail.

The beer selection was good. If I recall correctly they had the Pumpkin Ale and the Oktoberfest as their seasonals along with Bavarian Weizen, Wit, Belgian Red, Pale, IPA, Scotch Ale and Stout. We had the pumpkin, the IPA and the Oktoberfest which were all very good.

The food we had was very good as well. Between the grouper, the Cuban pork, and the huge cheeseburger you couldn't go wrong.

The tab was very reasonable for the four of us considering all we had. I'll definitely be heading back soon.

Not a bad brewery but not one of my top 5 in STL. Very good food with a nice dinning area. I wasn't overly impressed with the beer but the Hop Harvest IPA was good...not on the same level as a Stone or Lagunitas but decent none the less.

Square One is a solid brewery and one you'll want to try but don't pass up Six Row, Urban Chestnut or Four Hands for it.

I must say I really like the building and the atmosphere of the place. I did a flight and the beers were good but not great. There was a good selection though and if you're into whiskey they do that too. I do not believe there was any food there. If in that neighborhood I will consider stopping but there are so many other places in the St. Louis area I have not gotten to yet...

I decided to stop here based on other BA reviews. What a great place. Situated in a hip neighborhood in an old building that is nicely remodeled. I had a single hop IPA called Lomik to start things off - it was excellent. I followed that with a Belgian IPA that was very good. Cuban Pulled Pork w/ beans and rice for dinner was fantastic. This is a great stop if you're visiting St. Louis - big time recommendation.

I've been to Square One a few times, and the fact I've made it a point to stop by when traveling through St. Louis should go a long way in conveying my thoughts. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food good and the beers above average. Whilst there have been a few average brews, the few that have been less than desirable were nonetheless interesting experiments (ie. an IPA utilizing only one hop) and as such, I don't fault Square One. A nice combination of food and micro-brews, and definitely worth visiting at least once when in the St Louis area.

Situated in Lafayette Square district, less than 1 block from Lafayette Park where we play vintage base ball frequently. Each time we have a match there we always allow time for Square One afterwards.

Usually around 12 different types of own brewed on tap, I've tried around 7 or 8 of the 12 and found that I really liked the Spicy Blonde, the Light Squared and the Barvarian Weizen beers.

Overall their menu is very reasonably priced with a nice selection of salads and appatizers to start off with. Sandwiches are generally priced around $6 to $9 (the Jerk Chicken and Reuben are awesome) with fuller dinners in the $15 range.

Overall very nice place to take friends or visiting family for dinner or hang out in the bar area with buddies on a warm afternoon.
