Tried on tap at The Australian Beer Fest at the Rocks.
Golden bronze colour, with a billowy white head. Fine carbonation. Looks good. Very nice.
Very strong hops on the nose, with a vegetative character as well. Aromas of freshly turned earth and crushed leaves. Very solid. Nice.
Very pronounced, almost constricting bitterness on the palate. It goes beyond the classic bitter character to a plane almost resiny, minty or hypersour. It's pretty crazy, but damn that's ballsy. The mouthfeel is like being kicked in the teeth from inside your mouth.
It's pretty heavy, too heavy to make it a good sessioner - and usually pretty pricey too - I just love the fact that this was the same price as any other beer on the day.
But it's impressive. Cheers to Murrays for bringing this to us!

a: deep, clear amber color, steady stream of carbonation in the middle, thick cloudy head dissipates very slowly to finger-thickness, impressive lacing
s: earthy, hoppy aromas, very spicy
t: very spicy hops just about from beginning to end along with sweet malty middle and finishing with alcohol warmth and bitter aftertaste
m: medium body, high carbonation in front, settles to near creamy in middle and carbonation again in back
d: hop spiciness almost undid this one, but definitely got much better as it warmed. worth a try despite the overpriced tag & extreme difficulty in opening this bomber. a pretty good interpretation of a double ipa

Corked & caged 750ml bottle with best before date of 4/09/08.
Normally I don't mention the label but this one is great. I didn't notice in the picture on the internet but seeing it in the flesh it is one kangaroo "behind" another kangaroo with the slogan "Make love not war." Extra .5 appearance point right there. Anyway....
A - Nice cooper colour with an off white fluffy head that slowly falls away. Little bit of lacing left behind.
S - Great floral & fruity fresh hop aroma hits upon opening the bottle. A definate alcohol note comes through as the beer warms.
T - The biscuity, slightly sweet caramel malt comes through backed up by some citrus fruit, piney hop presence. Alcohol too.
M - Medium bodied with a lowish carbonation level. A fairly high bitterness.
D - A pretty damn good beer. Obviously wouldn't have a session on it given the price and availability but definately get some while you can.
