Can I truly be the first the review the Brewery Establishment?
The venue itself is a run of the mill wine-tasting cum brewery cum jams and produce shop, albeit set in well landscaped gardens. Large single room with tiled floor, much like a Hunter Winery. (Which it is, being joined with a winery, somewhat less well known)
We went on a wet lunchtime. and tried all of Murrays Ales on tap. 10/10 there, no surprises. Beers also available to buy by glass or growler. Tasting paddles are also available, however not so good if you are driving.
We followed that by a Pizza, that had to be sent back as it was cold (!) - to their credit the chef apologised and said the oven was playing up, but even the second did not really have too much flavour.
I suspect on a sunny day sitting outside, in the outdoor seating area. It would be wonderful , just like the rest of Port Stephens really. I also know they have bands on the weekends and the place must come alive then....
10/10 for the ales, and here's hoping Murrays at Manly is a huge success.

Nice relaxed outdoor setting with views of the grape vines. Very family friendly with plenty of grass area for kids to play while grown-ups do their equivalent with the beer and wine on sale.
Aimed a bit at tourists and every visit i've had bar one (out of 5 or 6) has had a tourist bus there visiting. Good outdoor feel and the fitout doesn't make it seem to uptight.
Service was pretty stock-standard (friendly enough and serving what you want), until i wanted to talk beer and then they opened up.
Good range of their own beers on tap. Summer visit so no RIS, but did have their DIPA along with their bigger sellers.
Probably the best brewery to visit in NSW and well worth going if you are in the Hunter region or have a spare day in Sydney and are prepared for a bit of a drive.

A-- Part winery, part brewery. Very touristy. Have pulled in several times to see bus loads of people trying wine and buying jams and olives. UMMM have the beer. Nice outside area to have a beer and a small covered patio as well. Does get a bit busy when there is music. To me more of a winery feel than a brewery but that is not a negative
Q-- It is clean, well kept and has a large parking area. Pretty easy to find if driving to Port Stephens, as pretty well signed.
S-- Very well trained staff and knowledgeable about their beers. Very friendly and willing to help and answer any questions. That does include the wine as well. Know more about beer than most Sydney establishments.
S-- All of Murray's beers there and on tap. Have some seasonal and special releases here and there. Until they bottled Icon all the time I made almost monthly trips for growler refils!
F-- Only have had the cheese platter and was not overly thrilled as it was a bit small for the money.
V-- Worth it for the drive and Port Stephens alone. Growler fills are a big plus. Bottled beers are a bit expensive there as can find AA cheaper elsewhere. Otherwise the tap prices are good. Good place to go hang out for an afternoon and be sort of lazy and drink some of the best beer in Australia.
