A: Pours an orange/honey brown with plenty of lightly toasted foamy head (inch and 1/3) that fades down to a thick sheet. Bottle fermented CO2 fireworks but not as many as I would expect.
S: Mmmm...unexpected. Very bold sweet malt with hops and grassy notes (huh?!) to balance it out. Some mellow whispers of dark fruit, cloves, and maybe pear.
T: God in heaven! A well melded blend of sweet tasting malt with mellow, but ever present hops balancing on a wheat/yeast foundation. In there for the ride, and quite necessary, are dark cherry and pear with bits of plum. Clove is not there in force but there to add another level of balance and complexity. Other spices are there but unidentifiable. Very smooth and creamy. A tip of the cap to the brewer (and to Ms. Corningstone).
M: A medium/thick body with plenty of CO2 looking for adventure.
D: Considering its ABV and weight, its very drinkable but overall just above average.
A very well done beer by a respectable brewer.
