Appearance: Tucher Hefeweizen pours an ultra-cloudy golden yellow, with a lovely billowy head to cap it off. This is exactly how a hefeweizen should look! There are also yeast chunks galore, which is right up my alley!
Smell: Banana is prominent in the aroma, but more banana bread than the fruit.
Taste: The taste follows the smell: quite bready with plenty of chewy yeast, just the way I like it! Not as citrusy as some hefeweizens.
Mouthfeel: The body is nice and creamy. It's also utterly smooth and very wet.
Drinkability: Light-bodied, smooth, full-flavored, low ABV...sounds pretty drinkable to me!
Notes: I underestimated this beer. Seeing as it's a Bavarian hefeweizen, I was expecting it to be good, but was not prepared for it to be as excellent as it is. This beer stands out for its bready taste and texture. Also, I'm a sucker for yeast, and this beer had a lot of it. I'm glad I got the end portion of this shared bottle, so as to get all the yeasty goodness possible.

At first i was a little disappointed in this one. Poured super chunky with lots of little floaties. As a homebrewer I am used to sediment, but this was excessive and crossed into unappetising. The head disappeared within 2-3 seconds. Unfiltered, it settled quikly to a hazy gold that helped improve initial reactions. Nice fresh and clear aroma of banannas, but little if any hops odors. Mouthfeel is mild..slight carbonation tingle. Taste is citrus, not overly so, but that is about it. No malt, no bitter hops, some yeast flavors. Mild, just not exceptional. It got better once it settled and halfway throught the glass i finaly got a clear taste, but nothing really stands out about this beer. Would go decent with chinese, especially washing down hot mustard or extra spicy general tsaos chicken... other than that, i would try something else next time. Maybe i got a bad or srale/old batch? Will check the date and if so try again.
