Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.

An interesting unfiltered appearance, with a golden lemon to chestnut brown moving towards the top. Paints like a nice brush stroke with the hues cascading and getting darker as you move on up. Light and fine carbonation and plentiful, capped with a creamy bright white three finger head. Slowly settles as the head deflates like a slow balloon with no lacing. Good looking hefe.

Excellent aroma going on. Hints of sweet lemon drop candy, mild fruit citrus zest and a good sense of chewy malt. Hints a little bit of vanilla and cream with just a bare hint of banana. Excellent bouquet on this really nice.

A real surprising flavorful brew, but with a light texture unlike most hefes. Mid palate washes with a light cream and a spicy quality on first sip. Mid palate comes out much more dense, but then gives to lemon like flavors on the finish. Almost crisp lager like finish with a candy peppermint like action on the aftertaste.

Real interesting take on what seems truly a lighter hefe by design. Real refreshing and nice.

i like good german hefe, so its always cool to have a new one, and this beer was the perfect compliment to a true authentic chicago deep dish pizza pie. some light contrast to the heaviest meal on the planet. pale pale yellow, and super clear for a hefeweizen, until the last few drops of the bottle come out. the head is tall and white, rich, almost too rich looking for the light beer it rests on, and it lasts forever. the nose is all banana and watered down wheat malt, not nearly as creamy and textured as some of these, which i do enjoy, but i also like the lightness of this one, especially in the context of my meal. the carbonation is also really charged up, helping it wash down the heavy food and cleanse my palate perfectly every time. the banana esters are strong in the taste, but its not a candied sort of thing like it can be, its just a real delicate thing, really soft and clean, not distracting or obnoxious. i have not had a german hefe this light i dont think, i could power slam these all summer long, and maybe i will now. great compliment to big rich food.

A: cloudy; straw colored - SRM 2.3; 1 finger white head that receded to a thin cap; very nice lacing;

S: clove and banana; note getting any real malt or hop characteristics;

T: banana is predominant up front, with a little clove a bubblegum in the background; a citrusy tartness toward the end; virtually no bitterness; the clove re-appears after the swallow;

M: light bodied; highly carbonated;

O: refreshing; well made; a good representation of the style;

This is one of my favorite styles so I am generally above the average with Hefe. But this a very good one. Everything you want in a hefe, Smooth and clean with just a little pop and some sweetness but not a lot. Very tasty and easy to drink, excellent hefe and one wheat beer lovers must try.
