Served on-draught into a 1 litre bierstein at Bergkirchweih. Cost was a ludicrously high 7.50 euro plus a 5 euro pfand (deposit) for the stein. Reviewed from notes taken at Bergkirchweih in June 2011.

Not paired with food.

A: Pours a one finger head of decent cream, nice thickness, and poor retention. Colour is a yellow-amber colour - very evocative of a marzen.

Sm: Scent is plain and bland barley, with little else to offer. Quite boring.

T: Caramelized malt, some limited cream, full barley, and a generic hoppy climax and finish. Simple but pleasant and refreshing. Not at all subtle or layered. Uninspired and boring.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Doesn't quite match the flavours of the body.

Dr: 1 litre at a festival may be pushing it, but it's a somewhat enjoyable brew. The cost is ricockulous; similar Tucher beers can likely be found elsewhere. It's nice for the first bit, but I wouldn't ever want to down a litre of this again.

This beer off the bat is just bad. Single finger head on a cloudy golden body. The aroma is of rottIng oranges and grapes. Flavor is medicinal with grape in dimetap in mind. Wheat and grains are there too. Light body and moderate to high carbonation. This one is not only a bad marzen but it's a terrible beer.
