Wow, i really mean WOW... im not a pro, but i`ve tried a few dopplebocks and i thought i will never taste a better dopplebock than the salvator...

A. Just amazing, you can see the carbonation bubbles dancing to the top like if they where happy to be part of this poem of beer. It is a dark "amber" color. It shines for itself, and when watched behind a light it turns in a scale of browns, from the darkest in the bottom of the glass... to the lighter one in the top of the glass.

S. You can pretty much smell the alcohol, the malts and notes of syrup i think.

T.Great, great, great... the best dopplebock i`ve ever tried, one of the best beers as well. It has a very sweet begining, again with notes of syrup, hops, and fruit.

M. It could be better, i think that the low carbonation makes it a little bit watery, but with that amazing flavor its almost impossible to critizice this beer.

D.It goes down by your throat like if it was sprinkle water, its almost impossible to stop drinking it, though a guess that if you have more than three of this, your senses will fail..

PROST!!

Half-litre bottle: looks great. BBD 3rd Mar 14, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 20th Dec 13.

Lovely deep red hue to the ruby clear body, on top a blanket of foam, sadly it turned into a thin wisp and collar fairly swiftly: still looked good though.

I love this style of beer: sweet and malty with just a little too much alcohol for it's own good (and mine). Bajuvator sits right in the middle of this type: caramel notes dominate both the aroma and taste add plenty of chocolate and a sprinkling of toffee from the malty molasses. A rich fruit malt cake sort of feel from the start, good depth of flavours and most enjoyable.

This doesn't mess around: it's malty sweet and alcoholic: if you are a hop monster it'll leave you cold, however if sweet malts are your thing, buy a crate!

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly cloudy nearly opaque reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, biscuit, raisin, prune, pear, apple, brown bread, brown sugar, light chocolate, and toasted/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark malt notes and fruity esters; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, molasses, raisin, pear, apple, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, light chocolate, and toasted/yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, molasses, raisin, pear, apple, toast, toffee, brown bread, brown sugar, light chocolate, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of dark malt and fruity ester flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice doppelbock. All around good complexity, balance, and robustness of flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

I've really been in the mood for some hearty doppelbocks lately. Hope this satisfies my craving for the night. Wow...Looks good from the start. Pours a beautiful chestnut brown into my pilsner glass with all sorts of tiny carbonation rising. A tan 2 finger head formed on the pour that slowly faded to 1 finger of rocky frothiness. Small sticky thin patches of lacing form after each drink.

This beer is loaded with great aromas. There's a fruity sweetness. Warm banana bread starts things off. After the hints of banana bread wonderful smelling maltiness takes over. Sweet dough, mild nutiness, mild milk chocolate and a perfect toasted grain aroma. This stuff smells like a meal. Like a meal you would want on a chilly night. Smells wonderful but could be slightly more pronounced.

Every bit of the smell comes out to show it's true self in the flavor. Banana bread starts things off again there is even a small amount of tartness you encounter when eating a banana. When the beer makes it's way to mid-palate the sweet doughiness moves in along with the nuttiness and milk chocolate. Sweet toffee shows up on the swallow after some warming. Creamy milk smoothness. Zero alcohol in the flavor. Excellent!

Medium bodied but velvety smooth. The smoothness is unbelievable. Carbonation is there pushing things through but is undetectable. Very nice.

Drinkability is outstanding. If this beer wasn't so much like a meal, which it's meant to be, it would get the perfect score for drinkability. I think it would be too filling to drink all night long. I do find myself drinking this one pretty quickly though.

Tucher Bajuvator is an outstanding doppelbock and one that will be in stock at my house for the rest of the winter. An excellent beer at an excellent price. Hard to beat. This definitely satisfied my craving for the night.

A: Pours very dark copper under a massive whipped-cream-thick dark beige head. Somewhat nice lacings.

S: Dark dried fruits and molasses! Malt, malt and malt is what this is all about.

T: RIch sweet dark malts, very bready - almost like Pumpernickel. Dark dried fruits, soy-sauce and strong black coffee.

M: Full body. no carbonation and a sweet, but short aftertaste makes no Doppelbock-lover dissapointed.

O: This is a nice and well-crafted Doppelbock, a very dark one.
