This was described as a California Common, and a collaborative test batch brewed with Kirby Nelson (formerly of Capital Brewing).
Bright yellow gold with a little orange hue to it, a lasting cap of frothy white foam on the surface. Some spotty lacing forms around the edges, and the surface skim eventually breaks after the first couple sips.
Grassy, bready aroma, clean and dry with a tiny bit of hop presence.
Smooth with a nice mellow bite, crisp and clean, bready flavors with a tiny bit of yeast character adding esters to the mix. Out of the bunch sampled at the brewery, this one seemed to stand out, possibly as it may have used a different yeast than the house yeast in everything else. This bodes well for Kirby's new brewery starting up soon in Verona...
