Reviewed on 6/30/2010. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy brown orange with a thick white head. Aroma of hop oils, citrus, caramel malt. Flavor of nice bitter citrusy hops upfront with some sprucy/piney hops and a solid malt base. Top notch - by far the best of the Lumber Barons offerings and a solid IPA.

On tap at Lumber Baron's on 11/30/08.

A - Clear medium copper body with amber tones and one-finger milky off-white head that receded into a thin veil and left thick, bubbly lacing around the rim of the glass. No visible carbonation present.

S - Pretty malty IPA with sweet caramel notes and toasted grains in the initial aroma. Opens up as it warmed with hints of grapefruit and some mild perfumy notes.

T - Like the aroma, there's a hefty malt presence with caramel, toasted grains and hints of toffee. Hops are secondary with traces of citrus hops and some earthy and perfumy notes as well.

M - Medium body with soft carbonation and a fairly oily texture. Finish is on the dry side and moderately bitter with a lingering hop bite.

D - Pretty solid malt-forward IPA, but pretty well-balanced overall. And at $2 for a pint during our visit, this was a bargain.
