I poured into a pint glass to an inch and a half of white head. It is clear and yellow. It smells sweet like an adjunct lager. The taste was sweet at first and is then followed by a horrible metallic taste. The initially taste is bearable, but that aftertaste is nasty. I probably won't be seeking this one out again.

Opa!

A - Pours a fluffy white head of about half an inch. About the same color and carbonation as ginger ale, and the head's gone just as fast. No lacing. I mean, it really really looks like ginger ale, or some kind of soda.

S - Is that... paint thinner? With some notes of cough syrup. Yuck.

T - There's the typical lager flavor, but with an almost fake grape flavor or Robitussin. It's actually kind of hard to choke down at times.

M - Watery, with an odd boozy finish. Surprising, considering the relatively low ABV.

O - I've had worse, but not many.

Some say lager is lager. Not Marathon. Marathon is special. This beer is a pretty pretty pretty gurrrl. Nice foam head. Nothing shocking, but a good head. The taste is real sweet. Beats many English ales for my money. Provided you like a little sweetness in the beer, then this is the beer for you.

If you are a fan of Greek soccer then it will make the match against Germany easier to swallow.

Drinks really nice. Easy on the carbonation. I think Marathon goes down well with music of Italian pianist Giorgi Gaslini 'Plays Sun Ra.'

This beer is a very clear yellow-gold color. A completely white head almost reaches one finger and shows pretty good retention. When it does fall, it leaves some clinging to the edges. A little lacing manages to stick around in spots.
The smell is all grass, must , grains and leaf, some definite sulfuric notes. There's not a whole lot to say.
In the flavor, a little sweetness comes out with the grains, but otherwise it's just as leafy and grassy, and herbal over all of it.
Light-bodied and a little bit slick, there is a stiff crispness from front to middle in every sip, though it flattens a little into a dryer herbal finish.

Poured from a brown 11 oz. bottle. Has a rich golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some grains and malts. Taste is crisp, grains, corn, a bit of an off flavor in the after taste. Not horrible, but not to my liking. Feels light in the mouth and overall is about your standard, run of the mill AAL.

Poured from a 33cl bottle into a pint glass. Had a best by date on the back label. Was a golden yellow color with bits floating around. Very slight carbonation and no lacing. The barely there fizzy white head quickly settled into nothing.

The aroma was standard lager biscuity malt and not much else. Bland. Taste followed the aroma lockstep. Bland. Mouthfeel was watery.

Overall, a really bad beer. Don't recommend. One and done for me. Only plus to this one was that I added Greece to my countries reviewed list.

The beer departs the 12-ounce brown bottle an auricomous color with the head tall and bright white in color, the texture spumescent, and the lace a thin but concealing sheet upon the glass. Nose is the archetypal lager malt, fresh and clean to the senses, start is sweet and the grain profile standard, the top is light in its feel to the plate, finish has a benign acidity, the hops adequate and the aftertaste dry as the desert sand, drinkable I guess, but nothing special.

Pours a clear medium golden color with a half-inch snow white head, slight carbonation, fairly good broken lace. Strong aroma of berries (yes, really) and candy sugar. The pungent sweet aroma is strong enough for a malternative-type beverage. Tasting yeilds mild pale malt flavors followed by sharp bitterness from the hops. In the wake of the bitterness an odd and lingering metallic flavor appears. A run-of-the-mill beer.

Smells a bit like sweet grain...grassy. Faint hops also there.

A little bit of crispness upfront, but not much. The dominant taste of this beer is of a sweet, biscuity malt and grain. It's not really all that interesting of a beer, but I guess it wasn't made to be. Finish isn't really dry...there's a good amount of wet grain that remains for a little while after the swallow. Hop character at the finish is pretty minimal.

It's highly drinkable...but nothing special overall. Again though, it's just made to be quaffed anyway...and for that, it does a pretty good job.

Pours a two-fingered white head that quickly and leaves traces of lace. Clear, light amber color. Light-medium carbonation. Nose is faintly malty. Starts just on the sweet side, finishes light and crisp. Could be a good summer beer. $1.89 for a 330ml bottle.

Pours a clear yellow color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Slight retention and poor lacing. Smells of sweet malt, biscuit, and adjunct. Fits the style of an American Adjunct Lager. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt and adjunct, with a grainy finish. Overall, not anything worth trying.

Poured bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: A bit of a pale gold color that was almost perfectly clear. Had a fairly nice 1-finger head.

Smell: Has a solid malt backbone in the smell that seems to have a bit of a spicy scent lingering in the background.

Taste: A spicy malt flavor with a mild hop kick to balance it out. It's smooth, but nothing terribly special.

Mouthfeel: The spiciness give it a bit of a tingle on the tongue. However, the rest of it is thin and watery.

Drinkability: Eh, it's okay, but not something I'm going to feel a strong need to get again.

The beer pours a pale gold color with a 1/4" white head that fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a light, pilsner malt and adjunct scent along with a dry lager yeast aroma. It has the aroma typical of most Italian lagers. The taste is average. It has a simple, yet smooth, pilsner malt flavor that goes down easy and finishes dry with some residual sweetness. The mouthfeel is good. It is a low/medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is an easy drinking Euro lager. It's smooth and simple. What else do you need?

At Greek fest in Sacramento

A - Poured a crystal clear golden with 2 fingers of white head. Dissipated moderately. Left nice lacing.

S/T - Faint smell of honey, slight bit of corn or rice adjunct and minimal hops for bitterness. DMS levels relatively low and diacetyl minimal if present.

M - Well balanced, medium bodied, crisp and finishes dry.

D - Good. Would prefer it over the American styles. That says something.

A - Clear golden color with a small white head that disappears quickly

S - just clean regular lager scent (biscuity maltiness)

T - Just like the nose

M - Medium body and medium carbonation

D - Meh. Aside from being from Greece nothing really special here.
