The only thing “effortless” about this beer is how it drinks. Domestic and imported malts take a backseat to the loads of American grown hops that are dumped into the kettle. Dry-hopped for mouthwatering aroma with Mosaic and Palisade hops, and infused with natural grapefruit flavor to add to the refreshment. Enjoy an Effortless drinking experience with our Grapefruit Session IPA.

From the tap, It's a light golden amber colored beer that is more opaque than you'd suspect it to be. The head is modest and enduring. The aroma is also modest, maybe just a little malt or hops can be discerned behind a noticeable, but not pungent grapefruit presence. With more glass lacing than expected, the taste is subdued, albeit in good balance. Grapefruit is only part of taste experience and it comes through tastefully. Hops and malt can also be detected, again in much moderation. The hop-grapefruit connection makes for a pleasantly dry and mildly bitter overall taste and finish. This is a session beer and most will probably want more than one, once they get started. If you're looking for bold anything, look elsewhere.

A very citrus season IPA. Decent looks with a nice thin-ish head. Touch of haze.

Heavy grapefruit juice.

Flavor puts forth lots of juice, Moderate hops and light sweet malt.

Crisp feel with mildly effervescent carbonation.

Nice easy drinking. A bit monotone but enjoyable.

I purchased this on a whim during the recent heatwave. Many IPAs use cascade hops, so grapefruit shouldn't be a reach. It pours nicely with a good white head, and it smells pleasantly of citrus. I do taste the grapefruit, but I still get a lot of the piney hop notes. With all of the advertising on the grapefruit session beer, I was hoping for a little bit less of the piney notes. It's certainly not heavy and I'm glad that I tried it, but I think I'll move on after this six-pack is done.

A: slight haze; bronze in color; 1 finger ivory head that receded to a splotchy cap; nice lacing;

S: white grapefruit;

T: up front, it's balanced between white grapefruit and a nice malt backbone; from the middle through the finish, it's grapefruit juice; moderate grapefruit rind bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: OK, but I wouldn't buy again;

Pours light. Good grapefruit aroma. A big grapefruit taste up front the slowly mellows to a mild hoppy bitter finish. Well balanced. The best grapefruit IPA I've had so far. It would be effortless to drink a 12 pack of these.

Illegibly datted can into pint glass. Pours a deep amber with a small but persistent off-white head. Initial imression is - surprise! - grapefruit, with a bit of bitterness up front. Mouthfeel is on the light side of medium; carbonation is just right. Finsh is bitter grapefruit.
Lots of flavor for a session IPA, but it's all the SAME flavor. Kind of one-dimensional, but maybe that's what they were looking for.

Tastes like you are sipping on grapefruit with a tint of hoppy. It's not bad for a fruity Ipa but I am not a big fan of grape fruit in the first place. Either way, I think you have to give them a thumbs up for pulling it off.
Look: cloudy
Smell: like grapefruit juice
Taste: grapefruit and bitter hops
Feel: tangy
Overall: I'm not a fan of grapefruit in first place.

Solid session, with grapefruit galore but a little less nuanced and hearty than say Founders.... I might get again...
