look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

A: Pours a hazy medium straw to lemon yellow in color with moderate amounts of gentle carbonation near the surface of the beer and some light golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall slightly fizzy white head that reduces to a medium patch of very thin film with an extremely thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of wheat, grassy hops, lemon/citrus, and just a touch of light fruit (apple).

T: Upfront there are light flavors of wheat with some grassy hops and just a touch of citrus/lemon. Very light amounts of bitterness which fade almost immediately.

M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with slightly more than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp.

O: This is very easy to drink and refreshing on a warm to hot spring afternoon. Light bodied with lighter flavors/aromas make this one quite sessionable.

Pours a hazy golden color with a whitish glaze and some honey highlights. The white head is short and dense and settles into a light cap.

The aroma is light and sweet. A bit grainy, noticable wheat aroma. Slight lemon touch and perhaps some hay.

The taste is light with a crisp wheat malt base. A light grassy hop goes along with a slight lemony flavor. More of an american wheat ale than a witbier. Not much coriander or other Belgian flavors. But perhaps a touch of coriander as it warms.

The feel is light but not watery with crisp carbonation. Lightly sweet but has a grassy bitterness. Drinks quite well.

Standard american wheat ale. Easy drinking summer brew.

From 04/04/13 notes. Had this on tap at the tasting room in NY.

a - Pours a hazy bright yellow color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of lightly sour fruits, which is kind of nice. Also smells of spice, wheat, yeast, citrus hops, lemon, grains, bread, and some earthy notes. Nose is quite nice.

t - Tastes of citrus hop, floral hops, spices, yeast, wheat, bready malts, some earthy malts, grains, and some light fruits. No sourness at all. Nice citrus and floral notes, though I liked the nose a little bit better.

m - Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy to drink beer; could definintely have a few of them.

o - Overall a pretty nice witbier. I liked the nose a lot, and it is easy to drink. They were selling six packs of this and I could see a lot of non-craft beer drinkers loving this one if it was brought to a BBQ. Would have it again.

Poured a very hazy, whitish yellow, very pale and cloudy. Huge white head never fully faded and tons of clingy lace down the sides of the glass. Some visible carbonation.

very light, lots of yeast asnd some light fruit, little grain, and a touch of hops. Lots of yeast and light fruits, some peach and pear. Very light taste, awesome hot summer day flavor.rich and creamy, very nice consistency and feel. Great carbonation.Could put down a ton, really easy drinker.Overall I was really impressed by this

Growler filled at the Flaming Fury release party.

Appearance: Cloudy pale straw body with minimal white crown that rapidly dissipates and shows little lace.

Smell: wheat and a muted orange/lemon/herbal note.

Taste: same as smell. the finish is sweeter than the amount of wheat tartness in the nose led me to assume it would be.

Mouthfeel: on the light side of medium bodied...fairly appropriate for the style. Moderate amount of carbonation makes it moderately enjoyable.

Drinkability: Quite sessionable

Not an amazing example of the style but good for an American attempt and a beer I'd love to have at any local bbq.

I had at the Burger Shoppe in downtown Manhattan, on Water Street.

A- Pours a gold, opaque. Very bubbly. Some head with limited lacing, though that could be because it was in a chilled mug.
S- Mild wheat scent.
T- Extremely crisp and carbonated. Tempered wheat taste. Has a very mild bite to it. Really well balanced, excellent beer.

A- Pours a hazy straw colored yellow, when held up to the light it seems very pale and translucent. A brief modest white head that quickly transforms into a skimming of the top. A couple of slow streamers that have lots of space in between the next risin bubble.

S- That familiar sweet sugary belgian aroma with a tad bit of tartness mixed with the usual banana (light here). Some herbal character to it.

T- Takes a few seconds to develop, there is a mild belgian, sugary sweetness that quickly gets replaced by a tame citrusy tartness. Like a tart apricot with a drop or 2 of lemon.

M- Good carbonation that scrubs your tongue- in a gentle/good way. I like the tart, and finishes semi-dry.

D- I could drink these all summer. Crisp, refreshing, tasty. This is my idea of a sessional summer beer.

64oz Growler from the brewery.

A- Sun block holds a dark yellow/light golden color with a skim of white loose foam on the top, fades quick leaving no lace.

S- A typical witte with citrus scent including lemon, orange peel and spice such as clove. Some earthy hops are there but light.

T- A well balanced witte with the above mentioned ingredients, I seem to be getting more orange peel but the lemon flavor is nice as well. The yeast also makes headway as well as clove, the hops keep everything in perspective.

M- Light bodied with a bit of carb felt under the tounge. Goes down smooth and almost to easy with some spice and yeast in the aftertaste.

D- Again, almost to easy to drink, Im glad the abv is low as I would be on the ground by now. Finished off the growler in no time, but I shared some because this style of beer gets boring after a while. Great for summer.

(From notes)

A - Poured with a frothy generous white head that held well; hazier, brighter light yellow color

S - Wheaty and yeasty; some spiciness; light fruitiness and some bananas

T - Touch of tart ripe fruit; mellows to a sweeter/spicier flavor, banana shows up a gain

M - Lighter, but still a good body; nice carbonation; dry chalky finish

D - Nice drinking; refreshing and interesting enough.

Overall, worth a look and a nice summertime brew.

Had this one on tap at the brewery's 3rd anniversary party.

A - Pours a hazy golden yellow with a frothy white head.

S - Lots of coriander spice and citrus with some floral and grassy notes.

T - I love witbiers beers and this one just didn't do it for me. Had a strong coriander and orange citrusy bite and not much wheat.

M&D - Light and crisp mouthfeel, refreshing summertime beer. Just not that great tasting.

Don't go out of your way for this one if you're a fan of the style.

On tap at The Ginger Man. Wheat aroma. Pale yellow cidery colour with some lace. Nicely drinkable, a bit astringent citrus, even some hop but also well malted finish.Subtle spice: corriander. Refreshing summer beer. Mineral water carbonation, average or above mouthfeel.

Reviewed 4/14/08. On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear golden orange with a nice, creamy white head. Aroma and flavor intensely of orange rind and some citrus and spices. This was not quite like any other witbiers I've had, but it was decent. 7/4/7/4/12 (3.4/5)

Slowly but surely getting to the end of the list of beers to try by CL.

Pours an almost clear gold with a white head. Nose is straight up dough, spices and funk. Fairly straightforward. Flavor is along the same lines. Doughy funky citrus flavor. Yep. It's a witbier. Feel is a bit of a biting carbonation and the liquid is typical. I consder this a pretty spot on interpretation of the style. A bit boisterous, but doesn't cross the line. Another good CL beer.

Served on tap at the Ginger Man in South Norwalk, Conn.

Appearance is a nice light honey color with a cream white head.

The smell is light, kind of sweet, and very inviting.

The taste is citrusy, easy going and completely refreshing !

The mouthfeel is similar to the rest of the beer, nothing too strong, but a bit sweet, a hint of spice, pleasant overall.

The drinkability is high, especially goes well with a warm sunny day and lighter food.
