12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Assuming the bottle isnt supposed to say "witte" anywhere on it?

A: Pours a cloudy pale golden with a somewhat thick one finger head. The head is white and sticks around for a bit leaving some lacing on the glass. Lots of visible carbonation as tiny bubbles.

S: Certainly hops, this has a nice fresh aroma to it. A blend of floral and citrus with a touch of pine. Seems to dominate the wheat, which I dont mind.

T: The wheat does come through more on the taste but is still a bit overshadowed with the ample hop dosage this brew has. Aftertaste is a mix of citrus and pale malts. On the hoppier end for not being labeled an IPA.

M: A pretty crisp and refreshing beer. Ample carbonation and a mostly clean finish. I guess the hops provide a bit of stickiness but its quite acceptable for the amount of hop flavor.

Overall Captain Lawrence strikes again. I have been impressed with their selection and would recommend to anyone into American Pale Wheat Ales.

Says unfiltered on bottle, but just the slightest cloudiness to a dark straw colored beer. Thin cap of off white foam scrams pretty quick, but some nice legs of lace left linger alliteratively.

Mmm a light aroma of wheaty cracker and lemony citrus hops, with just a hint of pine behind and slight notes of crystal malt.

Delicate medium strength taste that fully expresses the flavors of the bouquet, wonderfully so. It is a clean, simple taste that is refreshing and interesting and delicious.

Light in mouth, spritzy carb., and a nice coating from the hops gives it a clean finish.

Captain Lawrence just keeps coming with solid delicious offerings that make me proud to spend my beer money on local breweries.

The beer pours a straw/borderline golden yellow with an inch of fluffy white head that dissipates quickly. A thin white head blankets this beer throughout drinking. The nose is a light wheaty sweetness bittered by a touch of floral/slightly citrusy hops. The taste provides a bold wheat base upfront which carries on its shoulders a potent hoppiness (which is more bark than bite). It's clean, light bodied, hoppy, and has great wheat character followed by a lingering, nonintrusive bitterness. This is definitely the type of fresh spring/summer gulping beer I want to be cracking into after a brief Buffalo weather warm spell. It's probably my current favorite from CL that is available in 12oz bottles.

A: Pours a hazy medium straw to lemon yellow in color with moderate amounts of gentle carbonation near the surface of the beer and some light golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall slightly fizzy white head that reduces to a medium patch of very thin film with an extremely thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light aromas of wheat, grassy hops, lemon/citrus, and just a touch of light fruit (apple).

T: Upfront there are light flavors of wheat with some grassy hops and just a touch of citrus/lemon. Very light amounts of bitterness which fade almost immediately.

M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with slightly more than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp.

O: This is very easy to drink and refreshing on a warm to hot spring afternoon. Light bodied with lighter flavors/aromas make this one quite sessionable.

Pours a hazy golden color with a whitish glaze and some honey highlights. The white head is short and dense and settles into a light cap.

The aroma is light and sweet. A bit grainy, noticable wheat aroma. Slight lemon touch and perhaps some hay.

The taste is light with a crisp wheat malt base. A light grassy hop goes along with a slight lemony flavor. More of an american wheat ale than a witbier. Not much coriander or other Belgian flavors. But perhaps a touch of coriander as it warms.

The feel is light but not watery with crisp carbonation. Lightly sweet but has a grassy bitterness. Drinks quite well.

Standard american wheat ale. Easy drinking summer brew.

From 04/04/13 notes. Had this on tap at the tasting room in NY.

a - Pours a hazy bright yellow color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of lightly sour fruits, which is kind of nice. Also smells of spice, wheat, yeast, citrus hops, lemon, grains, bread, and some earthy notes. Nose is quite nice.

t - Tastes of citrus hop, floral hops, spices, yeast, wheat, bready malts, some earthy malts, grains, and some light fruits. No sourness at all. Nice citrus and floral notes, though I liked the nose a little bit better.

m - Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy to drink beer; could definintely have a few of them.

o - Overall a pretty nice witbier. I liked the nose a lot, and it is easy to drink. They were selling six packs of this and I could see a lot of non-craft beer drinkers loving this one if it was brought to a BBQ. Would have it again.
