Batch #1 bottle from the cellar.
Pours ruby red with sparkling clarity and a quarter inch head at best. An exaggerated pour released a meagerish amount of white, soapy bubbles which remained around the placid surface that developed after.
Aromatics lead off with sour cherries, bright acid, vineous wine and a shade of tannic aspirin. Lush, sour, and wine-like.
Medium bodied with a sharp as tacks mouthfeel. Lightly chewy and smacking of tartness.
Ripe, red stonefruit and large, vineous overtones start the palate. A bright, fruity, acidic, profile steps forward quickly and is followed by oaky tannins and red wine. Loads of cherries, wine, and oak.
Finishes with lingering tart cherries, red wine, sharp acid, and drying oak.
Wowza, great beer. Since this one has dropped bright in the bottle it's really come into it's own.

Bottle pour at the post-FWIBF bottle share held at the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles, CA.
Thanks to mrbubbler for sharing this one.
Pours a murky orange-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is sour with malt, grain, fruit, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour malt, fruit, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but slightly one dimension in its sourness.
