Formerly known as Captain's Kölsch
This is the first beer that we have brewed that is not considered an ale. Brewed with imported German yeast, Kolsch is a style of beer that is stuck in between the two main styles of ale and lager… not as fruity as an Ale, and yet not quite as subtle as a Lager; our Kolsch blurs the lines between the two.

12oz can into a Kolsch glass.
L: Pours lightly yeast clouded straw yellow w a white head that goes to a thick skin then to edge foam, large steady carbo bubbles, little to no lacing.
S: Bready caramelized malts, gently floral, a hint of pastry dough, yeast, over-ripe fruits, light grains.
T: Floral hops, gently sweet malts, lightly tart berries, light yeast, a bit herbal, moderately bready pastry dough, citrus zest, fruity with orange, plum and some stone fruit. Lightly bitter overall.
F: Beautifully balanced, crisp, med-light bodied, a fairly fast & clean getaway, lightly drying finish.
O: The citrus zest within the finish of this beer keeps it dry. It might otherwise be a bit fruity. Incredibly EZ drinking, elegant tasting and it is very good in its style.

355 ml bottle, as Captain Lawrence Clear Water Kölsch, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%, 25 IBU. Pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Fresh aroma of grassy and herbal hops. Refreshing and crisp flavour, medium dry, with distinct citric and herbal hops, resinous in the medium bitter finish.

S: Bready. Hint of citrus - lemony. Very clean.
T: Also very clean taste. Hits all the marks of the style.
F: Quite enjoyable. Sessionable. Thin mouthfeel.

Single can from Half Time, canned 03-17-2021 (almost 11 weeks)
Pours a clear pale gold color with a thin head that recedes slowly.
I could not pick up much aroma, some bready malts.
Taste is bready and a good amount of sweetness.
Light body with moderate carbonation.
I enjoyed it!

12 oz can poured into willybecker chilled
a golden shade with slight chill haze and thin white head with spotty lace
The smell has a faintly herbal woody quality with subtle yeast aroma
the feel and flavor of this kolsch is very good with low bitterness and relatively clean yeast with lager like malt and hops with gentle earthy hop quality and slight grainy taste.
The finish is smooth with a mostly clean qualty yet pretty decent representation of the style overall a satisfying ale with lager- like characteristics

Poured into a tulip glass from a 12oz bottle purchased at the brewery 9/7/19. Rich gold color with 2 fingers of foam that dissipated quickly to a faint lacing. Carbonation remains strong throughout. Biscuit, lemon, some grass up front with an amazing tingly mouthfeel and dry finish. This is world class beer- Cologne or not! Sorry I only got 1 six pack.

Had on tap. Pours a clear golden color with a well retained half inch white that that left decent spotty lacing. Smells and tastes of light malts, lemon, grass and grains. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, mild hop bitterness, mildly dry finish. Easy drinking beer.
