Pours a medium copper color, thin cap of prickly bubbles. Scent strong with the funk and tartness, hard to get below but some floral qualities work their way into the nose. Taste initially begins with strong funk and tartness, but herbal and floral notes appear as the palate adapts, some vinous qualities, notes of vanilla and oak join in. Medium bodied, lacking in carbonation for the style. Solid beer, but I wanted to like it more than i actually did.

A pretty good beer overall. Beer is orangish and hazy with a white head of small bubbles, some lacing, moderate to high carbonation, it looks good.

Aroma is lactic and strong with a nice tartness and good yeast character.

Beer is quite sour, light on the palate effervescent and clean on the finish. Moderate tartness on the finish with a great overall feel to the beer. This was one of the surprise stars of the night for me and I'm glad I got to try it. I'd have it again.

Thanks to juliusseizure (Reddit) for this interesting beer.

Fizzy pink head fades fairly quickly to a light head covering but leaves layers of bubbly lacing everywhere, over crystal clear fire rosy orange red colored.

Nose starts with funk, big Brett kick right away, some tart sour fruit with cranberry and light sour cherry, juicy berry like, as well as floral flower like aromas bit of a rose hip like, light barrel and vanilla oak,.

Taste again funk to start, some chewy bready funky Brett, dry and bready, light horse blanket but not a lot. Then sour fruit, tart berry and cherry, as well as floral flowers that are present but light, little rose hips, hint of hibiscus and tea like flowery flavor. Earthy yeast flavors, tart fruits bring it to the finish, long lingering tart fruit, light funk, and a bit of bitterness on the dry finish.

Mouth is med bodied decent carb, fairly sour but not overly.

Overall nice but not great. Good funk, nice Brett and tart sour fruit, but the flowery aromas are too muted. Oh yeah, and wasn't there supposed to be hops in this?

375ml bottle received in trade with Hoppymcgee. Big thanks for this one Greg! Poured into a Russian River stemmed glass.

A - Pours as a hazy pink hued ruby red grapefruit juice bodied beer with two fingers of dense pillowy foam tinted pink and showing good staying power. Foamy lace is left on virtually the entire surface of the glass as the head slowly falls to the surface. Good looking wild ale.

S - From a long distance away, the funky and barnyardy brett hits the nose immediately. Alongside the funk is the distinctly noticeable floral content of the beer...rose petals especially. Quite perfumey which is interesting and a bit odd as an offset to the barnyard...although somehow it really works well. As the glass sits a bit, the floral overpowers the funk and gives a welcoming soft aroma.

T - Would have never guessed the level of sourness from the aroma. Quite tart on first sip which gives way to a strong earthy component, some mild medicinal bitterness, and lots of herbal and floral character. After the initial few sips, the level of sourness seems to be less intense and blends a lot more evenly with the other flavors in the beer.

M - Lighter body buoyed a bit by the firm and foamy carbonation of the beer. Combination of tart, earthy and heavily floral flavors fill the mouth with a complexity of flavor.

O - Overall an interesting wild ale. Not super tart, especially after the first couple of sips, lots of earth and a plethora of floral character. A bit different than most other wilds out there, but in an enjoyable way. Probably a good call with the 375ml bottle, as I'm not sure I can put down a lot of this...375 seems about right. Another interesting offering from CL...they just keep the wilds coming - more hits than misses on their stuff.

Received in a trade. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a crystal clear light strawberry juice hue with a half finger fizzy pink head that faded quickly to leave a thin halo and light wisps.

S - Lots of nice floral notes, faint rose and hibiscus notes. Not getting much barrel, hops, and super light funk.

T - Taste isnt bad, initially. Initial taste is lightly funky with good floral notes, solid hibiscus , slight barrel notes as well. Not getting any hops, just a faint, very drinkable wild. Then the aftertaste hits...super, super medicinal. Unpleasantly so.

M - Mouthfeel is great for a wild. Nice light mouthfeel and carbonation.

O - Overall This was a solid wild ale, until the aftertaste kicked in. Once that happens its just unpleasant.

A: The beer is slightly hazy rosé in color and has a moderately active amount of visible carbonation evident from the bubbles quickly rising to the surface of the glass. It poured with a finger and a half high light pink-hued head that died down but never completely faded away, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a thick collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Pleasant aromas of hibiscus and rose hips are present in the nose along with a little amount of sourness.
T: The taste shares a lot of similarities with the smell and also has some hints of oak and white wine from the barrel aging process. The sourness is rather subtle compared to other beers in the style.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and a little tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a very easy to drink wild ale—especially if you are unaccustomed to sourness—because the taste is not dominated by a prominent amount of sourness and tartness.

Bottle thanks to WhereTheWildBeers, poured into a HF tulip.

Pour: A completely hazy blood orange with a finger of light pink white head. Head leaves fantastic lacing, and leaves a nice rim and film on the body.

Smell: A clean barnyard funk, followed by a nice lemon zest. Floral notes come out in the form of lavender and roses.

Taste: Barnyard funk and lemon come out up front. Then, the floral aging comes out in full force - lavender and roses create for a tart and floral affair that has a nice lingering presence.

Mouthfeel: Sticky as it sits in the mouth, but incredibly dry after the sip is over.

Overall: This, like the other wild ale WhereTheWildBeers sent me (Old HLT) was unlike any other wild or sour I've ever had. The aging process with hibiscus, rose hips, and elderflowers really created a bouquet, especially mid-palate through the end of the sip. Seek out if you can!
