This is “Pilot Batch # 15”
Freshie growler fill from the mother ship two days ago. Captain's info sheet provides the following: “Brewed w/ mesquite smoked hot peppers, dry hopped w/fresh picked leaf nugget hops and crushed red peppers. Full of smoked peppers, hops and a nice zing at the end of each sip!”
Always nice to try a new one from the good captain, especially one that just was broken out.
Pours typical amber, with a slight orange hue. Head and lace are light tan and pretty unexciting in nature.
Nose is of a roasted green pepper, with moderate potency.
Notes of light peppers, I really don’t get much “heat” or “zing”. The pepper quality really is just of notes of a bunch of green peppers or very very mild jalapeno. No real heat either up front or in the rear of the mouth/throat.
Tasty enough, I like peppers and spicy food. This one likely would be a good accompaniment. I could see adding some to a pot of chili as well.
Serving type: growler
