We jumped the gun along the way making our Hop Commander IPA before a base but it worked out for us. Working backwards gave us an incredible profile to work off of to make a very well balanced IPA with a lighter, softer touch than our Imperial version but still packed with hops.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of biscuit and pale malt, citrus hops, light graham cracker, lemon and hints of mixed fruit. Flavor is biscuit malt, citrus and tropical fruit hops, pineapple, orange, mixed tropical fruit and a light floral component. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. My second old style IPA in a row with the classic biscuit malt rather than the lighter pale malt popular today; a style I realize I like a bit better due to the flavor depth. Lots of fruit notes in this, mostly citrus. Sadly, this can has a few months on it and the hops flavors do taste a little tired, but the hop bill is quite nice. I like the floral notes in the hops and am surprised they aged this well. A tasty and well made IPA that has held up well in its travels. If I get to the East Coast, I'll be delighted to try this fresh.

Love the total hop profile..nose and bitterness and taste! Head was similar to the inner of the hop plant, sticky, at least to the sides of the glass with nice lacing. Very well done.

Day 15 of the advent calendar 2021
A very nice IPA; good color, excellent head and retention. Slightly less hop nose than I would have expected.
The flavor is full bore hops, though, with a malty backbone. Yummy.

Pours pale yellow with a 1 1/2 inch white head, which lasts. Heavy lacing to the end.
Aroma is grapefruit zest, orange, pine, floral.
Taste is grapefruit zest, orange, mango, spruce. Resinous.
Medium bodied, light carbonation. Dry, resinous finish.
Nicely balanced IPA.
