Enjoyed at the CL brewery in Elmsford, NY.
Appearance is near black with a small tan head. The nose on this is roasted malts and brown sugar. For the taste, there is chocolate, more roasted malts, medium bodied coffee, tastes pretty good. Mouthfeel is medium, a nice body to this, as some other much more famous Irish stouts have. Overall, a tasty Irish Stout & one of the better offerings from the "pilot system". Perhaps some day, this could make it to one of their regular offerings.

From 04/04/13 notes.
a - Pours a deep, mahogany brown color with one inch of light tan/off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, toasted malts, espresso, and some burnt malts. Tons of toasted notes and mix nice of coffee and bitter chocolate.
t - Tastes of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, cream, and toasted malts. Taste is nice and has a lot more bitter chocolate than the nose had, and less chocolate, Cream is nice as well.
m - Light body and moderate carbonation. No alcohol heat and easy to drink, though the body is a tiny bit too thin for a stout.
o - Overall a very nice Irish dry stout; not overly complex but tons of roasted notes and bitter chocolate, with light coffee throughout. Easy drinking, the only negative is the body is too thin. Still nice and something I'd have again.

Growler filled at the mother ship about one hour ago. This was brewed for St. Pat's day...they call it " A dry stout inspired by the classic drinking song, roasty notes of coffee/chocolate & rich mouthfeel"
Pours dark dark brown, near black, with ruby notes on the edges. Moderate medium khaki head, leaves impressive sheets of scattered fine lacing.
Pungent nose of coffee grounds and dark chocolate.
Just as advertized, this stout delivers ample coffee and dark chocolate notes in a smooth and pleasurable package...long roasty and super dry finish....on the heavier side mouthfeel wise...tasty and enjoyable..get some before its gone
