Notes/Commercial Description:
The huckleberry is native to the Pacific Northwest and it is prized for its sweetness and texture. To celebrate summer and the huckleberry picking season, we have blended real huckleberries from last season with our cream ale.

12oz bottle into a Stella Globe
Bottle on: 7/30/13

A: Pours a slightly hazy pale straw yellow with 1.5 fingers width of dense appearing bright white head. Head dissipates down at a moderate rate, leaves only trace patches of lacing.

S: Lots of fresh berry aromas, sweet and tart. I honestly dont get much else, a subtle doughy yeast-like scent is really the only other aroma I get. It actually smells a lot like berry flavored sparkling water. Not many characters that I expect in a beer, but very pleasant.

T: Tart, some bitterness, berry sweetness, light malts. Taste is more reminiscent of a beer than the aroma, but the berry characters arent as prominent.

M/D: Light body with heavy carbonation. I could see how this could be refreshing on a hot day (although Im drinking it in the winter). Drinkability is average.

O: Overall, I actually liked this one quite a bit. Nothing spectacular, but probably about as much as you could ask for from a fruited cream ale. Worthy of a try, and probably something your non-craft-beer- loving friends would enjoy as well.
