Bomber purchased while in Vegas a few weeks ago. I poured this one into my beer goblet. Looks like a bottled on date of 1/31/13 (I think, the month is a little obscured.)
Appearance: Inky black, no question a dark beer. A nice tan one finger head settled after a bit. Pretty good lacing for a higher ABV beer.
Smell: Roast, but not distinctly coffee. Cocoa with loads of dried dark fruit. A bit of booze in the nose.
Taste: Not as round as you might expect. The fruit and roast come through with a bit of the coffee as well. The coffee may have faded being 6 months old. The alcohol is well hidden. The hops impart a bit of a metallic twang, bit minor. The fruit flavors die off a bit too quickly.
Mouthfeel: The flavors coat the mouth easily. The carbonation could be a bit softer. The body of the beer is just right.
Overall: This is an interesting take on a porter. I do note the coffee but, I would not have guessed it had been added while brewing. I would not turn this one down, but I may not seek this one out again either.

22 ounce bottle -> Dogfish Head Glass
A - dark black pour with a towering foamy caramel colored head, world class retention, and world class lacing.
S - coffee, chocolate, roasted notes, and dark fruit.
T - sweet vanilla and molasses, chocolate and a burnt wood and coffee finish. Alcohol is hidden very well.
M - good carbonation, very thick, bit of an aftertaste
O - good but not spectacular.

On draft at Churchkey in D.C.
The beer is near black with a small beige collar. The aroma offers a robust coffee nose with dark chocolates. Decent flavor, with bitter chocolates, finishing dry. Medium in body with light carbonation. Overall, this is decent, but not a repeat for me.
